Irish 1,000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes heroine Tahiyra is the star attraction among 13 fillies set to go to post for the Coolmore America ‘Justify’ Matron Stakes.

The Aga Khan-owned daughter of Siyouni has been off the track for 78 days but is reported to be in good shape for this return to action at Leopardstown, for which she is 10/11.

Trainer Dermot Weld told Racing TV: “Tahiyra is coming along nicely, she did a nice piece of work and we’re on schedule.

“She had a busy spring and it was a damp spring, with the English Guineas, then the Irish Guineas and then Royal Ascot, so I thought she was entitled to a break.

“She’s not a big filly and I thought the break would do her good, which it has.

“I never compare horses from different generations, because I don’t think it’s fair, but she’s a very talented, very genuine filly and she’s right up there.

“This is her next target and we’ll see how she goes before discussing where she might run next.”

Weld also saddles high-class older filly Homeless Songs, who is one of two hopefuls for Moyglare Stud Farm along with Paddy Twomey’s Just Beautiful.

“She won the Irish 1,000 Guineas for me the previous year and this is a great weekend which has worked out really well for Irish racing,” added the Curragh handler.

Aidan O’Brien relies upon 9/1 shot Meditate, while 13/2 chance Zarinsk bids for a third straight win for Ger Lyons.

Ralph Beckett’s Prosperous Voyage, Tom Clover’s Rogue Millennium and Olivia Maralda from Roger Varian’s yard all travel from Britain for the Group One contest.
