Coral is back with yet another exclusive blog from our ambassador Jim Crowley, who is previewing his rides for York on Friday.

York 2.15 – Magic Mild
Magic Mild is a nicely bred daughter of Havan Grey who ran a race full of promise at Newmarket on her debut, only getting pipped for third in the final few strides, and only beaten a length overall.
She’s sure to improve loads for that debut run, and while this is always a strong listed race, and this year is no exception, I always enjoy riding for Clive [Cox] and it would be no surprise to see her go well.

York 3.45 – Naqeeb
This is a really strong looking renewal of the Yorkshire Cup, and so Naqeeb is the outsider of the field, and that’s fair enough. He’s stepping back up in trip after a decent third place at Newmarket over a mile and a half last time, but he’s won over this trip so I’ve no concerns on that score.
He’s a half-brother to our stars Baaeed and Hukum, and while he’s yet to match their achievements, he’s a horse we like a lot, and if he enjoys the step back up in trip it will open up plenty more options for him, but as I say this is a hot contest and it would be a surprise if went and won.
York 4.45 – Carolus Magnus
I’ve not ridden this fellow before, and we’re drawn in 19 which is not ideal for this 7 furlongs trip, but Mick and David Easterby’s horses are running well and they always like to have winners at York, so hopefully he can outrun his odds.
Carolus Magnus odds: 8/1
