France v Bulgaria betting tips: Last chance for Les Bleus to impress

Preview and odds for Tuesday’s match

France will expect to sign-off with a win at the Stade de France as they finalise their preparations for the European Championship with a friendly against Bulgaria.

Les Bleus are one of the leading contenders for outright glory this summer and must hit the ground running in a group featuring Germany, Portugal and Hungary.

Tuesday’s match is live on Sky Sports and kicks off at 8.10pm as we highlight a few potential France v Bulgaria betting tips.

France v Bulgaria match odds

Didier Deschamps may not want to take too many risks a week out from France’s opening match at Euro 2020 against Germany.

His squad has plenty of depth to it and regardless of team selection, it is little wonder the world champions are the clear favourites to win this friendly at 1/9.

They cruised to a 3-0 win against Wales last week, although their task was made easier by the 26th-minute dismissal of Neco Williams when the scores were still level.

Bulgaria missed out on Euro 2020, losing to Hungary in the play-offs, and have lost eight of their last 12 matches with their only win in the last 12 months coming at home to Gibraltar in a friendly.

They are 25/1 to cause an upset here while the draw is 8/1 although Yasen Petrov’s men have not disgraced themselves in the recent friendlies, drawing 1-1 with Slovakia after taking the lead and then losing 1-0 to Russia after conceding a late penalty.

France v Bulgaria head-to-head

France have come out on top in each of the three most recent meetings.

The first of those was at Euro 96 when France were 3-1 winners while they also did the double over Bulgaria in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup, winning 4-1 at home and 1-0 away.

Blaise Matuidi took just three minutes to give France the lead in the last meeting and they are 12/5 to be leading after 15 minutes here.

Previous XI

Bulgaria: Karadzhov, A Hristov, Antov, P Hristov, Karagaren, Yankov, Malinov, Chochev, Tsvetanov, Galabinov, Despodov.

Key battles

Several France players will be hoping to get one last chance to force their way into the starting line-up against Germany.

Everton full-back Lucas Digne played the second half of the Wales game and against limited opposition could have plenty of opportunities to get forward, with him 10/1 to get on the scoresheet.

Bulgaria’s team is lacking in experience and goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov has the most caps with 39. His 40th international appearance could prove to be a busy one if selected.
