Euro 2020 Group B odds

Belgium are widely fancied to win the European Championship so will expect to make comfortable progress through a group which does not look too challenging for a team ranked number one in the world.

The Red Devils were beaten semi-finalists at the 2018 World Cup and are 8/11 to begin their bid for a first major trophy by topping their group while they are 3/1 to win all three group matches.

One of the factors working against them is the location of their games as their first two opponents will both have home advantage, with Belgium starting against Russia in St Petersburg and then heading to Copenhagen to face Denmark.

The likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku will have faced more intimidating atmospheres, though, and will be full of confidence after winning their domestic leagues in England and Italy respectively this season.

Finland are the outsiders to win the group at 14/1 as they make their debut at a major tournament and will be desperate for Teemu Pukki to overcome an ankle injury in time to lead the line.

The Norwich striker scored 10 goals in qualifying and is undoubtedly the class act in the squad.

The Finns will be keen to do more than just make up the numbers on their debut are 15/8 to reach the knockout stage or 4/9 to finish bottom.

The Group B odds suggest a fight for second place between Denmark and Russia, who are 5/2 and 9/2 respectively to win the group.

Russia came through the same qualifying group as Belgium but lost both meetings, although they won their other eight matches as they look to maintain the feelgood factor in Russian football from the last World Cup.

Denmark will play all their group games in their own capital, starting against Nordic neighbours Finland, and can be backed at 15/8 to finish runners-up behind Belgium.

Christian Eriksen, as ever, will be key to their chances but did not play as much football at Inter Milan this season as he would have liked.
