Guide to the favourites in the outright betting

The semi-finals take place on Tuesday and Wednesday and we are taking a look at the updated Euro 2020 winner odds now the line-up for the last four has been confirmed.

England are hopeful of finally ending all those years of hurt but still need two more wins ahead of two mouth-watering semi-finals.

England

It could indeed be coming home with England the 6/4 favourites in the Euro 2020 winner odds and with everything seemingly going in their favour.

The Three Lions have reached the semi-finals for a second successive tournament and now return to Wembley after the 4-0 thrashing of Ukraine in Rome when England manager Gareth Southgate was able to substitute key players and those in danger of a ban.

England are yet to concede a goal at Euro 2020 and now face arguably the weakest team left in the competition as they go up against Denmark on Wednesday.

This looks the perfect opportunity to win a major tournament for the first time since 1966.

Italy

Italy came through the pick of the quarter-finals with a 2-1 victory over the world’s top-ranked team Belgium and have been cut to 2/1 in the outright betting.

Having needed extra time to get past Austria in the round of 16, Italy were back to their best in Munich as they extended their unbeaten run to 32 games and became the first team to win 15 consecutive European Championship matches.

They were boosted by the return to fitness of captain Giorgio Chiellini but will now be without fellow defender Leonardo Spinazzola, who has been one of the stars of the tournament but suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during the Belgium game.

The Azzurri face Spain in Tuesday’s semi-final and are favourites to reach the final.

Spain

Spain made hard work of getting past 10-man Switzerland in the quarter-finals but squeezed through a penalty shootout to reach the last four.

Once again they wasted a host of chances, as they did during the group stage, but were not punished and are into their first semi-final since 2012 when they won their second successive European Championship.

Ominously, each time Spain have progressed past the quarter-finals they have gone on to lift the trophy and they are 11/4 to do so again but if they are to add to their three titles they will need to be sharper up front against Italy.

Denmark

The Danes came into the tournament in outstanding form, losing only twice in 28 games.

They then lost their first two group games – 1-0 to Finland in the game overshadowed by Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest and 2-1 to Belgium despite an encouraging display.

But since then Denmark have put four goals past Russia and Wales before a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Czech Republic in the quarter-final.

They are the 9/1 outsiders in the Euro 2020 winner odds but certainly have the team spirit needed to go all their way and repeat their famous 1992 triumph.
