Euro 2020 Group A odds
Italy have home advantage for all their matches and are the clear 4/7 favourites to win Group A.
The Azzurri missed out on the last World Cup but are much improved under Roberto Mancini and won all 10 qualifiers for Euro 2020, with 11/4 available on them to win all three games in Rome.
Wales are the outsiders to top the group at 7/1 and their preparations have not been helped by the absence of manager Ryan Giggs due to his court case, with Robert Page in charge for the duration of the tournament.
They defied the odds five years ago to win their group and then reach the semi-finals, beating Belgium along the way, and will be confident of advancing to the knockout stage, which they are 4/5 to do.
Gareth Bale provides the star quality and should be relatively fresh after struggling to earn a regular starting place at Tottenham this season.
Turkey are strong defensively and prevented France having a shot on target in their 2-0 win in qualifying. They look short of quality in attack, though, with Everton striker Cenk Tosun ruled out due to injury after being Turkey’s top scorer in qualifying.
Burak Yilmaz played an important role in helping Lille win the Ligue 1 title ahead of PSG and can step up to fill the void left by Tosun’s absence.
Turkey are 9/2 to win the group, which is the same price as Switzerland who topped their qualifying group in the final round of matches ahead of Denmark and the Republic of Ireland.
They are appearing at their fourth consecutive major tournament and have made it to the knockout stage in the previous three, with 1/2 available for that run to continue.
In summary, it would be a major surprise if Italy do not dominate and the odds suggest this is one of the weakest groups with 15/2 on offer for Group A to produce the overall winners.
