The key storylines from Wednesday’s FA Cup replays

Premier League trio in action

The FA Cup continues tonight with three more ties from the third round stage.

Chelsea host Norwich City at Stamford Bridge, while Swansea City will be looking to avoid a minor upset at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Elsewhere, AFC Bournemouth travel to face Wigan Athletic after recovering from 2-0 down to secure a draw in the initial meeting between the two sides.

The Coral News Team have got you covered with the key storylines from all three matches.

Same again for Chelsea?

Chelsea have hosted Norwich twice in the FA Cup since the turn of the millennium. On both occasions, the Blues have prevailed by a 4-0 scoreline. The Stamford Bridge faithful will be expecting another ruthless showing this evening.

However, the Canaries are tricky customers. Daniel Farke’s side are well-drilled and frustrated their Premier League opponents in the first match at Carrow Road. They’re without a couple of key players from the first match, though, and are winless in West London since 1993.

Antonio Conte’s men should justify favouritism at 2/7, although it may take them a bit of time to break down the resilient visitors. Draw/Chelsea makes appeal in the Half Time/Full Time market at 27/10. If you fancy a hat-trick of 4-0 home wins for the Blues against Norwich, Coral have it at 11/1.

Wolves and Swansea set for tight clash

Nothing could separate Wolves and Swansea when they met at Molineux 11 days ago. The pair shared a 0-0 draw with both sides having a man sent off. The Coral News Team are predicting another close encounter at the Liberty Stadium tonight.

Both managers look set to rest key players for the clash. While the stats suggest that the match could be settled in extra time.

Carlos Carvalhal’s men have drawn their last two games in all competitions and have won just one of their last 12 meetings against Wolves. Meanwhile, the visitors have not won an FA Cup replay away from home since defeating Oldham Athletic in 2007. They’ve also drawn their last two.

It’s 21/10 for a draw inside 90 minutes, with Swansea the narrow favourites to progress from the tie at 4/5. In what should be a tight game, Draw and Under 2.5 Goals also makes appeal at 5/2.

Former FA Cup winners in action

Wigan won the FA Cup as recently as 2013. At the Vitality Stadium earlier this month, they almost produced another seismic shock. The Cherries fought back from 2-0 down to rescue a 2-2 draw, with Steve Cook scoring a dramatic injury time equaliser.

At the DW Stadium this evening, things won’t get any easier for Eddie Howe’s men. Wigan are unbeaten since November and have kept six clean sheets in their last seven matches. Paul Cook’s side are also unbeaten at home inside 90 minutes in their last seven FA Cup ties.

The visitors often field a weakened team in this competition. And that could work in Wigan’s favour. The Latics are well-priced at 11/8 to win the match, with Wigan to Win to Nil also tempting at 17/5.

Will Grigg has netted seven times for the hosts so far this season and is best-priced at 9/2 to be First Goalscorer.
