The magic of the FA Cup is something that makes football in England so special, and gives teams at any level a fighting chance to progress to a momentous day out at Wembley.

This time around, Arsenal are bidding to retain the trophy they won a year ago when they beat Hull City 3-2 in what was an exciting spectacle.

Arsenal are chasing a record, and if they win will become the most successful team in the competition with 12 victories going ahead of rivals Manchester United. They are odds-on at 3/10 with Coral.

We take a look at some of the best FA Cup final goals over the years.

Steven Gerrard v West Ham United 2006
This is one that will stick in the mind for years to come. Arguably the best goal to be scored in recent times, Liverpool’s captain fantastic struck a 30-yard volley in dramatic last-gasp circumstances, as the ball whistled into the bottom left corner, to level the match and force extra time. Gerrard, take a bow.

Roberto Di Matteo v Middlesbrough 1997
For 12 years, the former Chelsea midfielder held the record for the fastest ever FA Cup final goal and the strike was well worthy of holding this accolade, as the Blues also went on to win the cup. Relive the moment again below!

Didier Drogba v Manchester United 2007
A decade later, Chelsea won the competition again as legend Drogba became the first player to score at the new Wembley as the west London side beat United 1-0 in extra time.

Louis Saha v Chelsea 2009
Two years later, the Stamford Bridge side featured again, though are in this for the wrong reasons. Everton’s Saha broke Di Matteo’s record for the fastest FA Cup final goal, however, couldn’t prevent his side losing 2-1 in the end.

Paul Konchesky v Liverpool 2006
When remembering the 2006 FA Cup final, it is always the Gerrard goal that sticks out, however the strike from Konchesky was equally, if not more impressive. Whether he meant it though is a different matter.
