7/1 Premier League Darts acca

2017 PDC World Championship day 9 preview second round

Our four picks from week 14

We have arrived at night 14 of the Premier League Darts season, and things are beginning to make sense. Form is falling into place, the backlog has been worked through, and we’ve weeded out the weaker players who couldn’t cut it at this level.

The Sheffield Arena provides the backdrop on Thursday and, as usual, you can follow all the action from the oche live on Sky Sports. Fancy spicing up your viewing with a winning bet? You’ve come to the right place. Click here to have your say now, or read on as we run through our selections in each match which, when clubbed together, pays just shy of 7/1.

Wright beat Lewis

We start with an interesting meeting, and if both players bring their A Game, this really could go either way. From a punter’s point of view we’ve got to stick with the form player of the pair, and that is, without doubt, Snakebite. Wright has a fantastic head-to-head record against Jackpot, who just hasn’t been at the races at times this year. Lewis arrives battered and bruised, having been on the end of a 7-0 mauling by MVG last week. 8/11 on Wright looks just about fair.

Barneveld beat Chisnall

So Chizzy’s revival continued last week, and he tripped us up when drawing 6-6 with Mighty Van Gerwen. Who would’ve thought it? He has been an expensive man to oppose in recent week, can he keep that winning finish going in Sheffield? We don’t think so. We’ve had our fingers burnt on Chisnall in the past, as he hacks his way through the rankings, but expect that to stop here. Raymond needs the points to keep the pressure on the top-four, and when he’s up against it, that’s when we see the best of Barney. 6/5 looks a cracking price to boost us up.

Anderson beat Wade

This year’s Premier League is as competitive as we’ve seen it following the relegation of Klaasen and Huybrechts. Any player really could beat any other. Anderson put Barney in his place last week, while Wade beat Lewis, just to make this all the more interesting. The Machine doesn’t have quite as much to play for here though, and we’re taking Gary to nick a tight match at 1/2. Shouldn’t be a lot in it.

MVG beat Taylor

A massive meeting of old vs new. Or, at least, it used to be. Mighty now has a firm grip of the baton and his running off, leaving the Taylor days for dust. Michael is edging closer to a head-to-head recent dominance against Taylor, and it makes sense to stick with him here. Taylor could win, of course, but won’t. 1/3 van Gerwen rounds us off.
