Victory for Champ leaders among the picks

One of the most eagerly awaited events of the footballing calendar is here. The FA Cup third round gets into full swing on Saturday, with 24 ties taking place.

Ahead of a day of intriguing match-ups, the Coral News Team have put together a fivefold acca which they’re hoping can bring you glory.

If it comes good, a £5 stake would pay out a handsome £193.56. Odds correct at time of writing.

Double Chance: Carlisle or Draw (v. Sheffield Wednesday)

Things could hardly be worse for the Owls right now. Currently managerless, they’ve lost five of their last six matches – culminating with a 3-0 home loss to Burton Albion on Monday.

That could make them easy prey for hosts Carlisle United on Saturday. The Cumbrians have won two of their last three at Brunton Park, and should have enough to at least force a replay. Carlisle or Draw is a 4/5 shot.

Wolves to beat Swansea City

These sides could soon be trading places, with Wolverhampton Wanderers top of the Championship by 11 points and the Swans rooted to the bottom of the Prem.

Wolves host the Swans at Molineux in Saturday’s cup tie, aiming for a ninth home win in 10. With the visitors losing 11 of their last 15 matches in all competitions, the Coral News Team like Victory for Wolves at 4/5.

Yeovil Town v Bradford City – Over 2.5 Goals

The Glovers are struggling at the wrong end of League Two, but it isn’t for a lack of goals. They’ve now netted in 19 of their 26 games this term, including five in the last two.

Darren Way’s men host League One Bradford on Saturday. The high-flying Bantams have won six of their last eight games, but they haven’t kept a clean sheet in that time. Over 2.5 Goals looks an excellent addition at 20/23.

QPR to beat MK Dons

After a six-game winless run, Queens Park Rangers have rediscovered their form in the past three weeks. Victories over Birmingham City and promotion-chasing Cardiff City came either side of solid draws with Bristol City and Ipswich Town.

Their visitors are poor travellers, and have picked up a meagre two points in their previous five away games. Against decent Championship opposition, they’ve little chance of a result. QPR to Win is an 8/11 shot.

Doncaster Rovers to Win to Nil (v. Rochdale)

Donny head into this game on the back of 11 points from five games – a run which included a 2-0 defeat of Dale. All three wins in that run have been accompanied by a clean sheet.

Keith Hill’s side have lost three successive games, conceding six times and scoring just once. That all means Doncaster to Win to Nil looks generously priced at 27/10.
