Trader’s Tips: Cross to draw with MVG, wins for Wright and Price?

The Premier League heads to Dublin this week for more cracking arrows action, following wins for Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross and Daryl Gurney last time out.
Steve Lennon joins the fray in front of a home crowd at the 3Arena. He faces Peter Wright, while Michael Smith takes on Gurney, and Van Gerwen and Cross meet in the showdown of the night.
Our darts trader Alan Vye is back with with his tips for the night’s action, as well as his three best bets.
Coral News: We’ll get stuck straight in this week, with Gerwyn Price v James Wade. Neither player is flavour of the month, but who’ll get it worse from the crowd and who’ll come out on top?
Alan Vye: Gerwyn Price is still public villain number one so the crowd will undoubtedly be on his back once again. As the prices suggest this should be a close affair. If there is to be a winner I’d lean towards the Welshman.
CN: World Championship quarter-finalist Steve Lennon is this week’s contender. Does he have any chance against the unbeaten Peter Wright?
AV: Lennon is a decent player when at his best but hasn’t quite hit those heights yet in 2019. I think the occasion might be a little too much for him too and I’d expect Wright to deal with him comfortably.
CN: Then it’s the big one – MVG v Rob Cross. Both have been in terrific form so far, so where is this one going to be won and lost? Will Cross even be able to keep pace with the Dutchman?
AV: Cross continues to play well in 2019 without the weight of being the current world champion hanging round his neck. Van Gerwen hasn’t had to be in peak form to win in the opening two weeks but may need to be to triumph here. I can see this going all 12 legs and Cross may sneak a draw.
CN: Michael Smith and Daryl Gurney seem pretty evenly matched based on last week in Glasgow. How do you see this one playing out with the crowd likely to be on Gurney’s side?
AV: I don’t think the crowd will be too much of a factor in this one. Both enjoyed wins last week so should both be feeling confident. Smith posted some decent averages in the Players Championship events over the weekend and I think he will sneak this encounter.
CN: It’s Suljovic v Raymond van Barneveld to close things off. Barney has a decent record in Dublin, will that hold any sway against the Austrian, who is consistent, although winless so far?
AV: Barney chose to play in exhibition over the weekend so missed out on some much-needed match practice in the Players Championship events. Mensur may be winless but has posted two 100+ averages in the opening two weeks and won’t be as generous as Gerwyn Price was last week in gifting Barney a point. Suljovic to win comfortably for me.
CN: You nailed another two winners for us last week to make it four from six overall. What have you got for us in your three best bets this time around?
AV: Wright -3.5 legs v Lennon @ 13/8
Rob Cross or Draw in the double chance market @ 13/8
Suljovic -2.5 legs v Barney @ 6/5
