Shakespeare to write his own chapter
When it comes to supporting or betting on Leicester City, we have learned one thing – expect the unexpected. Over the last few years they have gone from Championship also-rans to Premier League winners, relegation contenders to Champions League giant killers.
The Foxes have boss Craig Shakespeare to thank for keeping them in the top-flight, but the English boss now wants to write his own chapter in the club’s history, hoping to return the glory days. Is another title win just a pipedream? Probably. Will that stop them aiming for the stars? Not a chance. Here’s three ways to back Leicester City this season.

Where do we start? Are we looking at The Foxes finishing in the top or bottom half? Should we concentrate on the major places or the relegation slots? It really is anyone’s guess. They were terrible and magical in equal measure last season, but it’ll be a different team this year. They have lost the core of that title winning side, but still boast some truly talented players, and when Jamie Vardy is in form, they can never be written off. Coral traders have taken up position on the fence, giving 5/6 a top-half finish against 5/6 bottom half. That safety-first approach is perfectly understandable. They shouldn’t be involved in the relegation fight though, 12/1 on them going down. We’d suggest going with a top-10, as we saw their potential towards the end of last season.
Big season ahead for Vardy
If Leicester are going to do anything this year, Jamie Vardy will have to put in another big shift. The most notable improvement brought about by Shakespeare’s appointment was the upturn in form of the England striker – bagging goals for Leicester in the Premier League and Champions League, as well as hitting the net for his country. He’s a proven scorer, and we’re surprised a bigger club haven’t come in for him during the transfer window. Will he shine again during the 2017/18 campaign? We’re giving 33/1 on him being the league’s top scorer, with each-way terms of 1/4 the odds four places. Leicester spent the summer chasing Man City attacker Kelechi Iheanacho, and the young Nigerian teaming up with Vardy would certainly get results.
Foxes to finally win the FA Cup
Leicester have their own little piece of FA Cup history, but it’s not an achievement they can be proud of – rating as the side who have played in most finals without every lifting the title. The Foxes have reached the decider four times in the past, three of those coming in the 60s. The last time they reached the final was in 1969, will this finally be the year they get over the line and etch their name on the silver? Well, nothing would surprise us with this team, and our football guys make them a lot more likely to win the FA Cup than the Premier League. Get 200/1 on The Foxes taking the English top-flight, or 33/1 the nation’s favourite cup competition. We wouldn’t put you off either.
