Borwick ready to make an Impact at Romford

T6 Borwick Impact looks to hold leading claims on landing the A2 on tonight’s 12-card at Romford screened live on Racing Post Greyhound TV (Sky 468, Freesat 250).

Paul Young’s charge is a tough and consistent performer who is a five-time winner in the grade and goes well when sporting the stripes.

In the last of those successes the son of Royal Impact produced a slick 3.82 sectional to make virtually all and score by 1 1/2 length in a time of 24.51.

That reads well in the context of this line-up and Borwick Impact has every chance of clearing T5 Adoremus and turning the first bend in front. If doing so he is going to be very tough to peg back.

Butteridge Zeb can give rivals the slip

In the A1 (21:56), T1 Butterbridge Zeb looks drawn for action and decent value to land the spoils.

Margaret Lucas’s dog rattled of a hat-trick in the grade in July and August, producing a best winning time of 24.44 in the process.

He has since run well to make the frame on several occasions without getting the best of luck in-running and, for a dog with plenty of early pace, looks nicely housed on the inside of T2 Ilwin Sleepy who is not renowned for being the quickest from the lids.

Butterbridge Zeb has a 3.77 sectional to his name and a reproduction of anything close to that should enable him to boss the inside and slip round in front to play catch me if you can.

Itsur Geezer has plenty going for him

T5 Itsur Geezer hasn’t enjoyed the best of luck of late but looks worth siding with in the A1 at 10:11 now retuned to the orange jacket.

Paul Young’s charge is 11 from 26 when wearing it and has also has an impressive strike rate of just under 40 per cent in the grade (11 from 28).

He is a really tough sort to pass when getting on the bunny as he showed three starts back when flashing from the traps to land an all-the-way 1/2 a length success in an Open.

Itsur Geezer has since endured two trouble passages from Trap 6 but if trapping in his best fashion looks nicely housed to ping out and make all now back in his best box.

Forward Winston worth a wager in finale

In the A1 that brings proceedings to a close (22:26), T1 Forward Winston looks to have plenty going for him.

Phil Simmonds’ charge is a strong running sort as he showed three starts back when overcoming a slow break to get up and score by 1 1/2 lengths.

The son of Droopys Scloari now finds himself in a race where there doesn’t appear to be bags of early and, given his strike rate of 33 per cent from Trap 1, that should give him every chance of holding his pitch on the run to the crucial first bend.

If that proves to be the case it will be game on and Forward Winston’s run style suggests he will be hard to contain if hitting the front at any stage.
