T1 Holdem Rio looks to hold outstanding claims of landing the spoils in heat two of the Fengate Collar (20:10) on tonight’s card at Peterborough screened live on Racing Post Greyhound TV (Sky 468, Freesat 250).

Hazel Wright’s son of Scolari Me Daddy is not getting any younger but remains a force to be reckoned with and there was lots to like about his first look at that track in a trial when clocking a very respectable time of 26.28 after a producing a 4.34 sectional.

A similar break should enable him to clear T5 Jet Stream Gale and get a lovely clear run to the bend to lead out wide.

With several early paced and short running dogs on the inside and middle there is a possibility of crowing and, if that proves to be the case, See No Gamble could be away and gone.

Rahyvira Castle can collect again

T5 Rahyvira Castle has a tremendous strike rate at the track and can further enhance it with victory in heat three of the Fengate Collar (20:26).

The Roger York trained dog has won for of his six starts at the venue and is unbeaten in two from the orange jacket.

Although surprisingly turned over by kennelmate Coolruss Alpha over course and distance 11 days ago, Rahyvira Castle did not break in his best fashion and is better judged on his previous victory over course and distance when pinging from the lids to score by 1 1/2 length in 25.92.

That sets the standard in this line-up and, with T4 Glatton Gunner sure to be cutting in at the first bend, the selection looks ideally housed as the sole middle seed to register a trap-to-line success.

Mac Foiche looks super in Sprint

Mac Foiche is a real credit to connections and looks the answer to heat one of the Sprint Trophy (20:58).

The son of Ballymac Vic is a formidable sort when timing it right at the lids and also packs a powerful finish.

Richard Devenish’s dog won the final of the British Bred Sprint at Wimbledon earlier in the year, and also ran a blinder when runner-up to the flying machine that is Walshes Hill in the final of the Festival Flyer at Sunderland.

That is top class form in relation to this contest and Mac Foiche has won four of his 11 starts at the track – one from two when wearing the stripes.
