Anderson, Wade, Norris and Klaasen kick-off last eight encounters
What a ride the 2016 World Darts Championship has been so far, with two tournament favourites Michael van Gerwen and Phil Taylor already ousted in incredible fashion.
The fixtures are still coming thick and fast though, with a pair of New Year’s Day afternoon darting duels previewed here by Coral that should be top of everyone’s viewing list.
We are now down to the final eight on day 13, and first up former BDO heroes Alan Norris and Jelle Klaasen clash, followed by a superstar scrap between current world champion Gary Anderson and title hunter James Wade.

Alan Norris v Jelle Klaasen
Ally Pally crowds have been delighted by this underdog pair so far individually, as Chuck superbly saw off Mark Webster to book his quarter-final slot, while The Cobra proved a poisonous opponent for 16-time world champion The Power.
Now thrown together, expect fireworks, with Klaasen odds-on 4/11 favourite to reach the semi-finals here for the first time. It’s difficult to see the Dutchman, a 2006 BDO world champion himself, heading home after going to the effort of taking out Taylor, and The Cobra has undeniably been clawing back to somewhere near his best form across the end of this calendar year.
In their two PDC tussles so far, Klaasen has also edged former BDO World Championship runner-up Norris twice, so back him at an excellent 11/2 to win by 5-4, with confident Chuck (21/10) at least capable of pushing his rival all the way. In addition, why not pounce on odds of 12/5 for The Cobra to be King of the Oche (player to win match, most 180s and highest checkout. If any of the markets are tied, bets will be settled as losers).

The Flying Scotsman (15/8 to retain) now faces covetous Wade, but arguably has the upper hand having taken this top prize before, while his English opponent has only ever finished in the final four.
Scottish arrowsmith Anderson has also endured tougher resistance to reach the quarter-finals this time out, producing perhaps his best performances on the oche since winning here last year, but has amazingly not yet averaged below 99.44.
With this is mind, The Flying Scotsman, who had the measure of The Machine in 2015 when he remained undefeated from seven scuffles, make sense as 2/5 favourite. Customers may fancy a flutter on Wade at 2/1 then, but must remember he has downed Anderson only 11 times from 36 chances, with the last way back in October 2014.
With Anderson in such fine form, instead there are alternative enticing odds worth a wager of 10/1 for the Scot to achieve a 170 checkout.
