Betting tips and preview from our trader, James Pryce

We’ve got 10 Greyhound Racing meets from across the UK to keep up the sporting action.

Our traders cast their eye on the action from Hove, Monmore, Sheffield and Poole as they give you the best of their insight…

Hove

With the current lack of action in the Open Racing scene due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Greyhound Racing authorities have come up with Invitation races. They’ll invite the best racers trained by the best trainers in the game.

There are four Invitation races coming from Hove. The pick that stands out the most to me runs in the 14:32. Aim For Glory has been running at the Ladbrokes Puppy Derby in Monmore, but unfortunately missed out on the semi-finals in a bunched finish in the quarters.

Since then, he’s gone on to run a nice winning race at Central Park in a very strong time. He’s placed in Trap three for this race, and although Seamus Cahill’s runner favours a wide seed, a win from Trap two recently makes the draw seem a little easier to deal with.

Monmore

Trap three has seen the most success on the Monmore track this year, with 168 wins already running out of that trap in 2020. It’s Moanteen Shaun who occupies that trap in the 15:02, running in the white jacket.

Kim Billingham’s puppy found life a little tricky in A5 after the step up from A6, where he won in February, but it seems today’s race could be in his favour with the grading more lenient than usual.

He usually goes off with plenty of pace early on, and we expect him to lead from Trap three all the way. He’s got two debutante runners inside of him, who we imagine will come on for their first race with a similar lead pace.

Sheffield

Russelena Rock runs in one of the better races on the Sheffield card. He’ll go from Trap two in the 19:42, and as a regular in Open races at this track, this race is a step down from his usual.

He likes to make life harder for himself, as he’s a dog that usually comes off pace. Most of the opposition in this race like to lead, which could stand in his favour as it could give him the tow he needs to set up his race.

Poole

Our tip for the 18:47 is Pennys Sky, who is one of the most inform dogs running at this track. In her last 10 races here, she’s on a remarkable run which has seen her pick up four wins and six second-placed finishes since October.

She’s won three on the bounce this month, meaning she’s on peak form coming in to this race. She likes to get out of the traps fast, and that could mean we’re likely to see her lead from the front again. We could see her continue her sensational run in this one.
