Phil Taylor odds-on to beat Raymond van Barneveld in virtual darts match
Darts legends set for charity showdown in April
Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld are set to face each other once again in a special virtual darts match for charity next month, with our traders giving Taylor the edge.
The Power is 4/7 favourite, with Barney an 11/8 shot. They played each other 83 times in professional competition, with Taylor winning 61 matches. Van Barneveld only won 18 times, though one of those was the famous 2007 PDC World Championship final.
The rivals won’t be in the same room for this special clash, though cameras and microphones means they’ll be able to see and hear each other.
“Taylor and Barney is one of the great sporting rivalries,
and at a time where many people are craving some top-class sport, this is a
fantastic idea and a great opportunity to raise some money for charity,” said
Coral’s John Hill.
“We make Taylor the odds-on favourite to beat Barney, but the latter was the
outsider in the great 2007 world final so the Dutchman is sure to have plenty
of supporters in the betting,” added Hill.
“Coral will be donating any profits from this match to charity,” concluded Hill.
