Odds and preview ahead of tonight’s playoff matches

The PDC Home Tour returns with some high-quality tungsten action tonight, as the business end of the tournament starts with the playoffs.

This phase of the tournament has eight groups, with the winner of each group heading through to the semi-final group stage, before the top two in each Championship Group move on to the finals where the winner becomes the champion.

The first night of playoff action sees 2020 PDC world champion Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright take on former BDO world champion Jelle ‘The Cobra’ Klassen, Spanish number one Cristo ‘The Spartan’ Reyes and Scotsman Ryan ‘Top Gun’ Murray.

Before an arrow is thrown, our trader Denis Yousuf has previewed the evening’s key clashes.

Cristo Reyes v Jelle Klassen (20:00)

This matchup could be the tightest of the night, with the former BDO world champion Klassen the slight favourite at 8/11. Spanish number one Reyes is even money in a contest that could go all the way.

The Cobra is second favourite to advance from the group at 9/2, but he’s the favourite to get the highest checkout and most 180s in the match here. If you’re looking for some value, the 7/2 boost on Klassen to be King of the Oche could be the market to look it.

Cristo Reyes v Ryan Murray (21:30)

The Spaniard Reyes is the worthy 8/15 favourite in this contest, reaching the last 16 at the world championships three times. You can find 5/1 on Reyes winning the group.

The Scotsman is the 10/1 underdog in the group and has it all to do in this matchup. The gulf in class could be telling, and he’s 11/8 to win this match.

Given the different in experience between the pair, 11/10 on Cristo Reyes to win and get the highest checkout could be the play of the encounter.

Jelle Klassen v Peter Wright (22:00)

The final match of the evening could be the title decider, as the two group favourites go head to head. Snakebite is the odds-on 1/2 favourite to top the group, and he’s the heavy favourite to beat a recently improving Cobra at 2/7 on.

Peter Wright got rid of the monkey on his back after winning the 2020 PDC world championship and could dominate again here tonight. There looks to be good value in the 11/8 on Wright to win and score the most 180s.
