Darts Trader’s Tips: PDC Home Tour – Monday 27th April
Our expert Paul Cierebiej previews tonight’s action
It’s the 11th day of the PDC Home Tour and Simon Whitlock, Alan Tabern, Kirk Shepherd and Mike van Duivenbode are all in action.
Whitlock, who is known as ‘The Wizard of Oz’, is the star attraction of the night, with the former two-time World Championship finalist and current world number 14 priced at 4/6 to be crowned tonight’s winner.
Simon Whitlock v Mike van Duivenbode (19.30)
The first match of the evening sees Whitlock take on a young Van Duivenbode, who should not be underestimated as he looks a prospect. However, Whitlock’s experience and scoring power should see him come out on top.
Whitlock has mixed it with the best in numerous major semi-finals and he’s going at 2/5 in the match betting. He’s also 3/1 in our special King of the Oche market, which requires him to win the match, hit the most 180s and have the highest checkout.
Simon Whitlock v Kirk Shepherd (21:00)
Two former World Championship finalists go head-to-head in arguably the highlight of the evening. Shepherd reached the 2008 World Championship final but he’s failed to realise his potential since then and can be backed at 9/4 in the match betting.
Whitlock should have too much for Shepherd and a handicap bet looks interesting. The Wizard of Oz can be backed to 11/10 -2.5 legs.
Alan Tabern v Simon Whitlock (22:00)
The experienced Tabern locks horns with Whitlock in the final match of the evening. Tabern is a former UK Open semi-finalist and he could prove tricky for Whitlock at 9/5. This match should go to the wire and over 7.5 legs can be backed at 5/6.
