MVG to win twice in Birmingham

Sky Sports set-up camp at the Barclaycard Arena, Birmingham on Thursday for the latest outing from the Premier League Dart season. Ever-popular Michael van Gerwen plays twice, and will win twice, according to our traders.
Phil Taylor beat Gary Anderson last week in an upset, but was then himself on the wrong end of a shock when losing to Dave Chisnall in what looked a gimme beforehand. We have run through the latest round of matches, and offer our views on a handy accumulator. £10 pays £95.
Lewis beat Wade
James Wade continued to blow hot-and-cold in this tournament, losing 7-3 to Peter Wright in Belfast when expected to mount a serious challenge. He’ll lose again this time, if our thinking is correct, when matched with Jackpot, who remains within touching distance of the top-four. Lewis let us down last week, but we’re hopeful he’ll make up for it here at an honest 5/6.
Van Gerwen beat Chisnall
What a round Chizzy had last time, beating Adrian Lewis in the first game of the night, before reloading and shooting down Phil Taylor in their top of the bill tussle. No one saw that coming, probably not even Dave Chisnall himself, but it has lifted him to within two points of the top-four. Unfortunately, the fixture list is against him and we back Mighty with confidence here. MVG is a convincing pace-setter and joins our team at 2/9.
Wright beat Taylor
Game of the night, without any doubt, matches second with third. Wright continues to force the issue at the top end of the table, currently sitting second with just two points to find to match MVG. He beat James Wade with minimal fuss last time, while it’s difficult to ignore Taylor’s loss to Chisnall. That sticks in my throat and I doubt The Power will see qualification this year, which is sad. Snakebite looks a gift at 10/11.
Anderson beat Barneveld
Barney finds himself under a bit of pressure here and recent results have not gone his way. He has dropped to fifth, with a record reading six wins, two draws and five defeats. Hammered 7-2 last week by Mighty, he was as toothless as we’ve seen him for a while. Gary Anderson needs to give himself a shake and really kick on. He’s suffering from a real lack of consistency, but this challenge will bring the best out of him. 8/11 looks about fair.
Van Gerwen beat Lewis
This should be the most difficult tie of the night for van Gerwen, but he is more than capable of getting the win and two on the bounce would really strengthen his position at the top. Lewis is firing with confidence at the minute, and banged in a nine darter recently, but I am expecting MVG to come flying out of the traps and put this to bed early, at 2/7.
