The draw for the Alexandra Palace tournament took place this morning

Michael van Gerwen is the favourite to win the 2021 PDC World Darts Championship following the first-round draw.

The Dutchman was beaten by Peter Wright in the 2020 final and he has been priced at 5/2 to go one better this time to claim his fourth world title.

“Mighty Mike looks to have come to form at exactly the right time of the year,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“The Dutchman is the favourite in the betting to win his third world title, ahead of Gerwyn Price and the defending champion Peter Wright respectively.”

The competition gets underway on Tuesday 15th December, 2020, with the final taking place on Sunday 3rd January, 2021.
