Love Island star attends Epsom Derby day

In his latest outing as Coral’s official #LoveRacing ambassador Chris Hughes attended the Epsom Festival, enjoying a day out at one of the most prestigious race meetings in the flat racing calendar.

The visit to Epsom is part of Chris Hughes’s journey in becoming a competitive jockey. In just two weeks’ time he will compete in the Best Western Hotels & Macmillan Ride of their Lives charity race at York Racecourse (16th June, 2018).

The Love Island star has been preparing for his competitive debut under the tutelage of legendary trainer Jonjo O’Neill. Chris has undertaken months of intensive training at Jackdaws Castle, as well as facing rigorous assessments to ensure he is race-ready.

Chris Hughes says: “I’ve always wanted to be a jockey so visiting Epsom is going to give me a taste of what it will be like when I make my debut. I’ve had some serious sessions on this challenging journey and it’s been tough – but I can’t wait to get on the track at York!”

Simon Clare PR Director says: “It’s not long now until Chris makes his debut at York. He seems absolutely determined to win, and with the help of the brilliant Jonjo O’Neill and his team, I’m not going to bet against them.  It’s not just about winning, the race is in aid of a very worthy cause – raising funds for Macmillan.”

Coral is sponsoring Chris, who is fundraising at Epsom for Macmillan Cancer Support in the build up to the race: bit.ly/ChrisJG.

The Love Island star joined up to 150,000 racegoers who visited Epsom over the two days of the Investec Derby Festival.
