Pacey Bambi a solid punt in Henlow Puppy Derby Final

T3 Pacey Bambi looks a worthy favourite to land the RPGTV Henlow Puppy Derby Final (20:50) on tonight’s 12-race card at the Bedfordshire venue screened live on Racing Post Greyhound TV (Sky 468, Freesat 250).

Paul Young’s youngster has won two of his four starts at the track and was particularly impressive on his penultimate outing when producing a lightning 3.68 sectional to make all and slam Loggies Tammi by three lengths in a time of 27.44.

That sets a clear standard in this line-up and gives the son of Romeo Recruit around three lengths and upwards in hand on his rivals.

Pacey Bambi also showed he was not all about early pace when overcoming a tardy start over course and distance seven days ago to power home and win going away at the line by 2 1/2 lengths.

Although both his wins have come from the one box he moved off in a trial so the switch to the white jacket is unlikely to be a hinderance and granted a clear run Pacey Bambi is going to be very hard to beat.

Best I Scene ready to cut a Dash

In heat one of the Henlow Dash (20:18), T4 Best I Scene looks decent value to get the better of red-hot favourite Azzuri Dino.

Trained by Paul Young, the dog has won one of his three starts at the venue and ran blinders to finish runner-up to the very smart Chubbys Oak on the other two occasions.

The son of Drumcrow Obama is a powerful sort blessed with plenty of early pace and has winning form from the four box at Romford.

With T1 Azzuri Dino hit and miss as the lids go up, Best I Scene is going to be very hard to contain if hitting the front at any stage of the contest.

Lughill Bee impossible to oppose

T3 Lughill Bee looks a cut-above her rivals and a worthy odds-on favourite to land the spoils in heat two of the Henlow Dash (20:34).

Alan Ward’s charge has a tremendous strike rate at the track having won 10 of his 18 starts.

He is also four from seven when sporting the white jacket and comes into the race in terrific form having won his last three starts over course and distance in impressive fashion.

On each occasion Lughill Bee has shown his customary early pace to make all and score with tons in hand and granted a similar slick exit this looks his for the taking.

Edison holds majors claim in Mini Final

T5 Edison looked an unlucky slower last time out and rates a solid bet to open his account at the track in the Henlow Mini Final (21:06).

Jason Bloomfield’s charge is yet to get his head in front in four starts at the venue but has run some solid races in defeat and hinted that his time was near when third to T3 Newinn Louis seven days ago.

Edison, who was sent off a heavily punted odds-on favourite, got badly hampered at the second bend before powering home to be beaten just 1 3/4 lengths.

It was a terrific effect given how the race panned out and granted a clear run I fully expect him to turn the tables on Louis.
