T1 Bodell Spark looks cracking value to exploit a dream draw and land the 592m Stayers Open on tonight’s card at Henlow, screened live on Racing Post Greyhound TV (Sky 468, Freesat 250).
Heather Kemp’s charge scored in terrific style on his last visit to the track when leading up and railing well to beat Droopys Bump by a runaway 8 1/2 lengths.
The son of Kinloch Brae produced a 15.12 sectional to win in a time of 37.77 and those figures read very well in the context of this contest.
With five middle runners on his outer, Bodell Spark should also get acres of room to operate in the run to the first bend.
If flashing out in his best fashion he will have a great chance of turning in front and getting on the bunny to quickly establish a race winning advantage.
Diamond set to sparkle again
T4 Lemon Diamond has been in superb form of late and rates a solid bet in the 238m Sprint Open (20:10).
Roy Griffin’s bitch has won seven of her last eight starts over course and distance and was most impressive in the last of those when beating Talltrees Lady by 2 3/4 lengths.
She is blessed with lightning early pace and, having won seven of her 13 starts when wearing the black jacket, looks ideally housed for another smash break.
With main market rival T1 Ferryforth Marie dropping back in trip and having too speedy types on her outer, there is a possibility of crowding on the rails and Lemon Diamond can quickly be away and gone.
Romantic Amber holds all the aces
T6 Romantic Amber ran very well last time out when runner-up and can go one better to land the 592m Maiden Stayers Open (20:42).
Stephen Fletcher’s bitch got badly crowded on a couple of occasions before running on strongly to go down by a diminishing neck to Swift Jess over course and distance seven days ago.
She was arguably an unlucky loser and has nothing to fear from the re-opposing T4 Droopys Zone who finished a further 2 1/2 lengths behind in third.
Romantic Amber is also entitled to improve for that sighter given it was her first run at the venue and, as the sole wide side, looks to have a good make-up in what looks a very winnable race.
Stonepark Mo poised for more success
T2 Stonepark Mo has a terrific record at the track and can further enhance it with victory in the 415m Standard Open (21:15).
Trained by Keith Crew, the bitch has won 14 of her 23 starts at the venue and has a 33 per cent strike rate when sporting the blue jacket.
She bounced back from a couple of defeats to run out and impressive 4 1/2 length winner seven days ago and her best recent time of 25.91 sets a clear standard in this line-up.
Stonepark Mo has potent early pace and, providing she beats T1 Live Tornado to the punch, this looks hers for the taking.
