Droopys Country and Pinpoint Den among TV tips for Belle Vue

Droopys Country drawn to deliver

There is a top class Open card at Belle Vue tonight on Racing Post Greyhound TV (Sky 468, Freesat 250) and T6 Droopys Country rates the standout bet in heat three of the RPGTV Laurels at 19:54.

Jimmy Wright’s dog is a classy sort who is blessed with stacks of early pace and a real tough nut to crack once getting clear on the bunny.

He warmed up for this with a superb trial over course and distance when producing a flashy 4.37 split before going down by a short-head to Hiya Butt in a time of 27.53.

That was a terrific effort for a first run around the circuit and Droopys Country is entitled to improve for it.

If doing so the son of Aero Majestic looks ideally housed as the sole wide side to ping out and register a trap-to-line success.

Alex hold all the aces

In heat two of the RPGTV Laurels (19:39), T1 Clondoty Alex looks nicely drawn and decent value to land the spoils.

The Mark Wallis trained son of Razldazl Jayfkay is a prolific winner and a real credit to connections.

He was simply sensational when showing terrific early dash to land the East Anglain Derby at Yarmouth back in September by 4 1/4 lengths and has held his form well since, winning four of his seven starts.

Clondoty Alex also has a great record when sporting the red jacket and is a really tenacious sort who is difficult to pass once in front.

The key to this will be whether he boss in the inside and turn the first bend in front, and I think he is drawn to do just that.

Pinpoint Den a solid punt

T5 Pinpoint Den is a real class act and rates a solid punt to land heat five of the RPGTV Laurels (20:26).

Kelly Macari’s dog showed what he is capable of when flashing from the lids to land an all the way three length success over Tynwald Baz in the final of the Steel City Cup at Sheffield.

He has since had just two competitive starts and was impressive in the last of those when very quickly away and making all to beat Shaneboy Freddie by 3 1/4 lengths in the Terry Meynell Memorial Trophy at Newcastle.

If starting in similar fashion and leading-up I can’t see anything being capable of picking up Pinpoint Den.

Huarache Finn hot stuff in Oaks qualifiers

T6 Huarache Finn impressed when scoring on debut over course and distance last week and looks worth a wager to follow-up in heat one of the second round of the RPGTV Oaks (20:58).

Kevin Huttun’s charge produced a 4.37 sectional before taking up the running at the third to pull clear and score by three lengths from the re-opposing Sporting Melody.

He showed good track craft to get the job done in style, and although Sporting Melody got crowded on a couple of occasions I thought Huarache Finn was a worthy winner.

There is also plenty of pace on the inside for Melody to overcome from Trap 3, and the selection looks nicely drawn as the sole wide to steer clear and capitalise on any scrimmaging.
