Greyhound Derby winners list: Every winner since 1927
Published:Ahead of the final of this year’s blue riband event, we’re taking a trip down memory lane and posting the full English Greyhound Derby winners list.
First run in 1927 at White City, the sport’s premier event in Britain was staged at that venue until it closed down in 1984.
Mick The Miller stands out from the early scorers, with perhaps the most famous of all the Derby heroes prevailing in 1929 and 1930.
28 June 1930. Mick the Miller became the first dog to win the Greyhound Derby for a second time. His record stood for 42 years until Patricia’s Hope matched the double when taking the race in both 1972 and 1973, but Mick the Miller is still regarded as the greatest UK greyhound. pic.twitter.com/hgV6zCXcnI

GR Archduke earned his place in the history books when obliging in 1940 during a one-off switch to Harringay, prior to a four-year gap due to World War II.
The outstanding Ballyhennessy Seal struck when racing resumed in 1945, while Trev’s Perfection did the Triple Crown of English, Scottish and Welsh Derby triumphs two years later.
Leslie Reynolds trained five winners between 1948 and 1954, a record haul which was only eclipsed by a magnificent seven strikes from Charlie Lister between 1997 and 2013.
Mile Bush Pride was another Triple Crown ace in 1959, along with Patricias Hope, who also became one of four two-time Derby champions in 1972 and 1973.
The Derby switched to Wimbledon in 1985, where ‘Derby King’ Lister enjoyed great success, including a 2000 and 2001 double with Rapid Ranger.
Westmead Hawk was the other multiple scorer in 2005 and 2006 for Nick Savva, who completed a unique hat-trick of training victories with Westmead Lord a year later.
