Odds and preview for tonight’s fixtures

We’ve reached the final round of fixtures in the Nations League group stages and there’s plenty still up for grabs.

England’s defeat to Belgium on Sunday saw them miss out on a place in the finals, with Roberto Martinez’s side progressing.

They’ll be joined by either Germany or Spain, who meet tonight for a one-game shootout to finish top of Group 4.

Meanwhile, anything could happen in Group 3, with France and Portugal fighting to finish top, while Croatia and Sweden are battling to avoid dropping into League B.

Ahead of the action, we’ve taken a closer look at the key matches.

Spain v Germany (19:45)

These two footballing giants meet in Sevilla with just a point separating them at the top of Group 4.

Germany currently sit top of the pile, but Spain have home advantage and the objective for both sides is the same – win and you’ve earned a place in next year’s finals.

Spain are the slight favourites at 27/20, with Germany priced at 19/10. A draw would see the visitors progress and it can be backed at 5/2.

Spain have been out of sorts of late. An 89th-minute Gerard Moreno equaliser spared their blushes against Switzerland last time out, having lost their previous Nations League clash to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Germany came from behind to beat Ukraine 3-1 on Saturday and have the momentum going into the clash.

The pair played out a 1-1 draw in their opening group game back in September and a repeat of that scoreline is going at 6/1.

Timo Werner scored twice in the win over Ukraine and the Chelsea striker is 9/2 to net first this evening. Spain’s likeliest goalscorer is Alvaro Morata, who is 13/8 to score anytime.

France v Sweden (19:45)

The situation is slightly less drastic in Group 3, although group leaders France will still be nervously looking over their shoulders.

Didier Deschamps’ side are three points clear of Portugal but have an inferior goal difference, so defeat against a Sweden side fighting for their lives could see them concede their place in next year’s finals.

The odds suggest France will be fine. They’re odds-on at 8/15 to win, with a Sweden victory going at 6/1. A draw will see the hosts progress and it can be backed at 29/10.

The hosts cemented their place at the top of the group with a 1-0 victory over Portugal on Saturday, with N’Golo Kante the unlikely goalscorer.

And they’ll be satisfied with another one-goal win this evening, having won 1-0 at Sweden in the reverse fixture back in September. A repeat of that scoreline is priced at 23/10.

Kylian Mbappe is expected to lead the line for the world champions and the Paris Saint-Germain star is priced at 13/2 to score two or more.

Meanwhile, veteran Sweden striker Marcus Berg is going at 7/2 to score anytime.

Croatia v Portugal (19:45)

Cristiano Ronaldo

While Portugal will harbour hopes of progressing to the finals, they can only top the group if they win in Croatia and Sweden do them a favour by beating France.

Croatia have struggled in the Nations League so far and find themselves level with Sweden on points and goal difference at the bottom of the group.

Portugal are the favourites in the match betting at 21/20. The hosts are going at 13/5, with the draw priced at 12/5.

Last time the pair met, Portugal ran out 4-1 winners and we go 17/2 for an away win with over 4.5 goals.

Croatia need only match Sweden’s result to avoid dropping into League B and they’ll be hoping Ante Budimir has his shooting boots on. The Osasuna striker is 5/2 to score anytime.

For Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo is odds-on at 5/6 to net anytime, while the Juventus superstar can be backed at 18/1 to score a hat-trick.
