EFL Cup round 3 tips for Wednesday clashes

The EFL Cup clashes continue into Wednesday evening, with a host of Premier League clubs hoping to extend their run in the competition, including Manchester United, Manchester City and West Ham United.

So, ahead of the games taking place on Wednesday night up and down the country, Coral outline five EFL Cup round 3 tips for punters to enjoy during the tussles…

Rashford to net first over Northampton

Jose Mourinho’s Man Utd will be aiming to finally get back on track after three successive defeats in all competitions, and they have the perfect place to start in an EFL Cup encounter against Northampton.

The Red Devils have never lost to their cup opponents and their young forward Marcus Rashford will enter proceedings at 14/5 to open the scoring on their visit to the Sixfields Stadium.

Man City to beat Swans and over 3.5 goals

Pep Guardiola’s Man City are on a perfect run of form this season and will next come up against Swansea City, who the Sky Blues have not lost to since March 2012, stretching back eight outings.

The Sky Blues are therefore a promising 11/4 to overcome the Swans and there to be 3.5 goals scored in the clash, with the visitors having been in clinical form in front of goal in recent weeks.

Southampton to topple Palace and both score

Southampton prevailed 4-1 in their previous meeting with Crystal Palace last season and the Saints are 29/10 to overcome the Eagles once again with both sides getting on the scoresheet at St Mary’s.

The south coast club have won back-to-back outings in Europe and domestically, giving them momentum and confidence ahead of Palace’s arrival.

West Ham to fire four or more past Accrington

Slaven Bilic’s Hammers have endured a tough start to the campaign and will enter this EFL Cup match-up with Accrington Stanley on the back of a worrying four consecutive losses on all fronts.

Although, with their opponents being three divisions below them and entering with just three wins from 11 outings so far this term, West Ham should be capable of blowing their opponents away and are 23/10 to dispatch four or more goals.

Bony to bag brace or more over Hull

Stoke City’s new signing Wilfried Bony has played twice since his arrival from Man City and he will have the perfect platform on which to get off the mark for his new club, on home soil against Hull City.

The Ivory Coast frontman is 3/1 to bag a brace or more on his latest outing, which could prove to be third time lucky, after drawings blanks in games against Tottenham and Crystal Palace.
