Ffos Las and Windsor previews: Kummiya can collect for Charlton

Kummiya poised to follow-up at Ffos Las
Trainer Roger Charlton has a tremendous strike rate with his runners at Ffos Las and Kummiya can further enhance it with victory in the 1m handicap on this evening’s card at the Welsh venue (20.00).
The Beckhampton handler has an overall success rate of just over 24 per cent with his runners at the track and is operating at 50 per cent in the past 12 months.
In Kummiya he has a lightly-raced three year-old who looked one to keep onside when getting back to winning ways at Nottingham last time out.
After being held-up in fourth the gelding made smooth headway to take up the running two from home before only having to be driven out to beat Shamaheart by 1 1/2 lengths.
Kummiya was value for much more than the winning margin suggests and the runner-up has come out and won twice since.
That gives the form a rock solid look and with the prospect of even better to come a 7lb rise in the weights if unlikely to be enough to stop Kummiya going in again.
Just Isla weighted to strike
In the 7f handicap (20.30), Just Isla can take advantage of a drop in the weights to land the spoils.
The mare won twice last summer when trained by Michael Blanshard, landing a 7f contest at Lingfield off 59 and a 1m handicap at Kempton off 58.
Just Isla got put up to 62 after the latter and after failing to trouble the judge in her next three starts spent a lengthy 199 days on the sidelines.
Although well beaten on her first two starts back there was much more to like about her latest effort at Bath when third on her first start for trainer john Flint.
Just Isla travelled strongly for much of the contest until keeping on at the once pace to be beaten just over two lengths.
It was a huge step back in the right direction and if building on it Just Isla has every chance of getting back on the scoresheet off an unchanged mark of 55.

May Rose ready to bloom at Windsor
May Rose ran a blinder when runner-up last time out and can go one better to open her account in the 5f maiden on this evening’s card at Windsor (18.50).
Trained by the in-form Charlie Hills, the three-year-old has shown progressive form in three outings this season and found only Soaring Spirits too good in a handicap at Leicester 12 days ago.
After being held-up in touch travelling strongly, May Rose made smooth headway two take up the running a furlong from home and kept on well once headed to go down by just 1 1/4 lengths.
The winner was completing a hat-trick and the fourth home Beau Mistral, who finished just over six lengths behind the selection, has come out and won since.
That gives the form a rock solid look and very makes May Rose the one to beat now dropped back into maiden company.
Wahaab worth another chance
Wahaab disappointed last time out on soft ground but with underfoot conditions now in his favour looks worth another chance to cash-in on a huge drop in the weights and score an overdue success in the 5f handicap (17.50).
The gelding was a smart juvenile when trained by Richard Hannon, winning on debut at Goodwood before finishing seventh of 15 to War Command in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes.
Things haven’t gone to plan since but having initially been rated 91 the five-year-old is now able to race off just 60.
That gives Wahaab a huge chance on the pick of his form, the son of Tamayuz showed he retained enough ability to win a race of this nature when an unlucky second at Brighton on his penultimate outing.
Connections are also now fitting Wahaab with cheekpieces for the first time and if the new headgear has the desired effect he looks handicapped to take all the beating on the pick of his form.
