European Championship darts second round tips
Day two of European Championship darts has thrown up even more intriguing match-ups, following a breathless opening act on Friday. Coral writers preview the best betting on offer with James Wade v Max Hopp odds included!
Giant killings and upset apple carts are becoming almost the norm in PDC tournaments now – it must be why so many love the sport! And viewers weren’t short of shocks in Friday’s first round fixtures as all of Dave Chisnall, Benito van de Pas, Kim Huybrechts, Robert Thornton and world champion Gary Anderson bowed out at the first hurdle.
Even Peter Wright suffered a scare, requiring the rub of the green in a deciding leg to push past Justin Pipe. But the most edge-of-your-seat encounter involved Michael van Gerwen as a spirited Simon Whitlock came within one dart of a legendary win!

So, without further do, see which Saturday second round scuffles we’ve highlighted in our European Championship darts second round tips…
The Machine to clock up most 180s

Young hero Hopp is up against a smooth Machine in Wade, after the English arrowsmith whitewashed off-colour Gary Anderson in an impressively controlled display. Cold as ice The Machine won’t have it all his own way against the fledgling German talent, but odds of 6/5 are worth snapping up for Wade to keep the most composure and score most maximums in the match.
The Cobra can outclass The Bullet in handicap betting

It’s one apiece from previous meetings but Klaasen is capable of taking his performances to the next level, and really put in a dazzling opening darting display against Steve West.
The Cobra can continue to progress and though odds-on 4/5 match favourite, punters can find value in handicap betting for the Dutchman to beat The Bullet by over 1.5 legs (-1.5) at 11/10.
The Spartan to take six legs against Snakebite

Snakebite almost lost that famous spring in his step as dark horse and slow thrower Pipe had the Scot on the ropes, forcing a thrilling deciding leg on Friday.
Wright is unlikely to make the same mistake twice but, in Cristo Reyes, faces an oche prospect who has been somewhat of a trail-blazer for Spanish talent. The Spartan was impressive against The Thorn in his first match but over the longer leg format for the second round could struggle at squeaky bum time. With that in mind, Wright should beat the Canary Islander – but not without losing a few legs. Snakebite is therefore an enticing 13/2 to win 10-6.
The Original for King of the Oche

Kyle Anderson kept on course to become a PDC name to look out for as he overcame household name Chizzy 6-3 with a classy and potent performance.
Despite having been able to ruthlessly dispatch the Englishman, with an average of 92.98, we still haven’t seen the best of The Original yet in Belgium.
James Richardson, meanwhile, overcame a poor Jamie Caven and looks ripe to be picked off by Aussie Anderson. Best value for the 1/3 favourite then, is a tasty 2/1 for the increasingly powerful The Original to be anointed King of the Oche (player to win match, most 180s and highest checkout. If any of the markets are tied, bets will be settled as losers).
The Power for a 10-3 victory surge

This mismatched tungsten tussle pits young Yorkshire talent Rockstar against one and only The Power. And though Bradford-born Cullen has spades of potential, Potteries legend Taylor has lost only one of their five previous meetings.
In three of those five frays, Rockstar went down to heavy defeats. So, take Taylor at 6/1 for a 10-3 dominant darts victory.
