Liverpool to hold Spurs in first half and win the second
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have what it takes to pip a stalling Spurs side at Anfield, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men preoccupied with both the Premier League and Champions League.
Tottenham could only draw away to Bournemouth at the weekend, while the Reds overcame previous thorns West Bromwich Albion. The Merseyside men therefore look to have much more edge at Anfield and are an enticing 17/5 to draw the first 45 but emerge as victors in the second-half as Tottenham tire.
Sanchez to spark in Arsenal v Reading
Arsene Wenger should not take Championship team Reading too lightly, but Arsenal will undoubtedly be confident of out-gunning the opposition on Emirates turf.
The visitors have never beaten the Gunners in 13 attempts and have 18 goals smashed past them in the past four fixture meetings – including seven in the previous League Cup clash!
Arsenal instigator Alexis Sanchez was the star of the last meeting in 2015 with a brace and, now back in form, the Gunner is 3/1 to hit two or more again on the night.
Back Bristol v Hull for a draw and under 3.5 goals
Punters can grab a more than appealing price of 13/4 for Bristol City and Hull City to draw over 90 minutes and under 3.5 goals in the game.
It may be another case of Championship v Premier League, but this is one where the Robins can get a result. Hull have gone four games without a win, while Bristol boast home advantage and have not lost at Ashton Gate since August. To boot, three of the last six meetings have ended evenly, with two of those on Bristol’s patch.
Newcastle can pip Preston but both look good to score
It’s a double whammy for the Magpies with back-to-back battles against Preston North End in the EFL Cup and then Championship.
Both teams are in terrific form, which should make for a tantalising tussle. But we reckon that, roared on by the St James’ Park crowd, Rafa Benitez’s buoyant boys are brilliant value at 12/5 to triumph in 90 minutes with both teams bagging!
The Tyneside team have been on target in all their past seven scuffles across all competitions, as have PNE, so that punt looks cracking value.
Dorrans to dispatch and Norwich sink Leeds
Despite a recent blip, Championship title hopefuls Norwich City should have enough to stave off Leeds United on an autumn evening up at Elland Road.
Beaten only once on their travels all term, the Canaries should have the home team singing to their tune. While, you can enhance backing Norwich for the win by taking a 5/1 price for an away victory as well as Graham Dorrans to score anytime.
Dorrans was last to net for Norwich, with two penalties against Fulham as this season’s elected spot-kick taker, and also tucked one past the Yorkshire club last time they clashed with the Canaries.
Saints to sink Sunderland by exactly one goal
Southampton have hardly been tearing up trees recently but, against the blunt Black Cats on south coast soil, should be confident of progression at St Mary’s.
As Sunderland worry about the Premier League relegation scrap, and the fact they’ve failed to score in successive games, Saints should look sharper against their sloppy defence.
Still, Southampton have rippled the net only four times in as many of their last meetings with the Mackems, that is just one per match, and have drawn two blanks in five of their most recent outings. With all that in mind, 5/2 is a fantastic price for Saints to sink Sunderland by a one goal margin.
Chelsea to beat West Ham by three or more
Chelsea can hit the Hammers where it hurts in this London derby and are a tremendous 17/4 to lead at the Olympic Stadium after 15 minutes.
The Blues were incredibly quick out of the box to batter Man Utd and former boss Jose Mourinho on Sunday, with Pedro poaching the opener within 30 seconds – the fastest Premier League goal so far this season! Antonio Conte’s confident crew were similarly quick the game before too, taking only seven minutes to score against Leicester City.
So, with the Irons unimpressive this term, Chelsea are expected to go straight for West Ham’s jugular with Eden Hazard and co back in fierce form.
Aguero to draw first blood for Sky Blues success in Manchester derby bets
Manchester United looked deflated in their demolition by Chelsea, and have already lost to bitter foes Man City this season, so don’t look likely for success.
While, with rumours surrounding his future, Sergio Aguero has a point to prove – meaning the Argentine could be lethal for the Red Devils.
At 7/1 the South American is a sweet chance to score first while the Sky Blues prevail at Old Trafford – somewhere they have lost only once in their last six short trips across the Northwest city.
