Dustin Johnson is the 10/1 favourite to win the 2018 Open Championship, which begins on Thursday at Carnoustie.

The 2016 US Open winner has been in good form since the turn of the year, finishing T10 at The Masters and third at Shinnecock Hills in the second major of the season.

He’s the current PGA Tour number one. But he’ll need to improve on a disappointing record which has seen the 34-year-old finish T32, T12, T49 and T54 on four of his last five appearances at the UK major.

The Coral traders make Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose his most dangerous opposition at 12/1 apiece.

Northern-Irishman McIlroy always puts in a strong performance during his home tournament and famously won the event in 2014. Rose has only ever finished inside the top-ten once, back in 2015, when came home T6.

Rickie Fowler comes next at 14/1, ahead of Tommy Fleetwood, Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth and Brooks Koepka, all of whom can be backed at 16/1.

“Dustin Johnson has been well backed in the run up to the Open and at the moment he’s our clear favourite ahead of the start on Thursday. McIlroy and Rose have also been well supported, whilst we’ve seen a lot of bets on Tommy Fleetwood off the back of his sensational finish to the US Open last month,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.

“Tiger Woods is always a popular pick for punters and almost guaranteed to be a bad result for the bookmakers, but at the moment he’s a 20-1 chance to win on his first appearance at the Open since 2015,” added Aitkenhead.
