34-year-old looking for second Major title

The latest odds are in from Coral, and it’s Dustin Johnson who is favourite to win this month’s US PGA Championship.

The 34-year-old is 7/1 to win the PGA Championship. Johnson’s only previous Major triumph came in 2016, when he won the U.S. Open.

But a third-placed finish in the same tournament this year has seen him well backed for glory in Missouri.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “Dustin Johnson is once again our favourite, the third major in a row in which he has topped the betting. He might not have won one yet this year but he’s been playing some great golf nevertheless and it hasn’t stopped punters piling in again.”

At the sharp end of the betting, Johnson is followed by 10/1 shot Rory McIlroy, whilst Justin Thomas is third at 12/1.

Coral are paying ten places on the tournament – and there are 10 players available at odds of 16/1 or shorter.

Amongst them are three-time major-winner Jordan Spieth and the resurgent Tiger Woods – who cracked the top six at this year’s Open Championship.

Meanwhile, the in-form Tommy Fleetwood is available at 20/1.

Aitkenhead added: “With Coral once again paying ten places for each way punters we’ve seen a lot of support for Justin Thomas, victorious at the Bridgestone Invitational over the weekend, and Jason Day who has finished in the top fifteen at this competition five times in a row.”
