Darts Trader’s Tips: PDC Home Tour – Saturday 16th May

Odds and preview ahead of tonight’s matches

Night 30 of the PDC Home Tour is headlined by The Flying Scotsman, Gary Anderson. He’d been scheduled to play earlier on in the tournament but had to pull out as his internet connection wasn’t up to speed.

However, the technicians have made it down to Somerset and Anderson is good to go. He’s joined by Kim Huybrechts, Dimitri Van den Bergh and Dirk van Duijvenbode.

It’s the Scotsman who heads the betting for night 30 winner at 5/4, with the first match scheduled to get underway at 19:30. Ahead of the action, our trader Edward Saunders has given us his thoughts on the key matchups.

Gary Anderson v Dirk van Duijvenbode (19:30)

Anderson is unsurprisingly the strong 4/9 favourite in the opening encounter on night 30. Dirk van Duijvenbode has never beaten the Flying Scotsman, losing all three of their previous battles.

It’s likely to be difficult for the Dutchman to improve on that record at 13/8 underdog. When on song, Anderson is a very heavy scorer and can be found at 5/6 to hit the most 180s in the match.

Dimitri Van den Bergh v Kim Huybrechts (20:00)

The second tie of the evening is a battle between Belgium’s best. World number 28 and Belgian number one Dimitri Van den Bergh faces Belgian number two Huybrechts, who is only eight places lower in the world rankings.

Van Den Bergh has the advantage of having the darts, and it’s the Dreammaker who is the 8/13 favourite for the match. It could be a hard-fought affair between the two Belgian rivals, with Van Den Bergh 4/1 to win 5-4, and Huybrechts 7/1 to win a last leg thriller.

Dirk van Duijvenbode v Kim Huybrechts (20:30)

The Hurricane Huybrechts stays at the oche for the third match of the evening. He’ll be throwing second in this tie too, meaning although Huybrechts is ranked 33 places higher, they both start at 5/6 to win the match.

The pressure will be on Van Duijvenbode to hold his throw in the first leg of the evening, and we’ve got him priced up at 4/7 to do so.
