Our expert previews tonight’s playoff matches
The PDC Home Tour playoffs continue this evening as Nathan Aspinall, Jesus Noguera, Jamie Hughes and Jose de Sousa go head-to-head.
And our trader Michael McDonald has taken a look at the key battles.
Nathan Aspinall v Jesus Noguera (19:30)
Noguera caused an upset in reaching the playoffs, topping a group that included Ian White and Danny Noppert. He takes on world number seven Aspinall in the first match of the evening and Noguera finds himself as the 4/1 outsider.
Aspinall is the hot favourite at 1/7 but Noguera proved in the group stages he can hold his own and he’s priced at 4/6 to win with a 3.5 leg start in the handicap market.
Nathan Aspinall v Jamie Hughes (21:00)
Aspinall’s second match of the night is a potential banana skin against the world number 42. Aspinall, the 2019 UK Open winner, is 2/5 to triumph against the current Czech Open champion, who is priced at 7/4.
These two have met three times before, with Aspinall winning twice, and he’s currently 6/1 to win what could be a tight affair 6-4.
Jose de Sousa v Nathan Aspinall (22:00)
De Sousa is in excellent form having failed to drop a leg against Keegan Brown and Robert Thornton in the group stage. But he faces a tough test against Aspinall, who is the 1/2 favourite to beat De Sousa, who is 6/4.
De Sousa is the first Portuguese player to win a PDC title and he’s 10/11 to win with a +1.5 leg start in the handicap market.
