Coral’s New Year Specials: Tee off with great golf selections!
Published:Matt Haynes | December 30, 2015
To ease into the New Year, Coral bring customers a wide variety of golfing specials to get you in the mood for what will be a superb season.
To win a Major in 2016
What a year we had in last year’s Majors. While Rory McIlroy was expected to continue his fantastic form, it saw a new champion emerge in the shape of American rookie Jordan Spieth who blew the field away in the US Masters, before winning the US Open and finishing as the world number one.
It is hardly surprising that Spieth is evens with Coral to win a Major in 2016, though McIlroy will be keen to mount a comeback, having faltered in the second half of the season, due to breaking his foot while playing football with friends.
McIlroy has potentially opened up an intriguing rivalry with Spieth already claiming that the American will find 2016 tough. “It will feel completely different for [Jordan],” McIlroy said.
“If you look at the stats at how those who have had a double-major season have performed the next year… well, it’s hard to back up. It just is. There’s so much expectation, so much attention and focus. And I think it is more self-inflicted pressure really as your expectations are so high.”
The Northern Irishman is surprisingly also evens to win a Major, with the US Masters still eluding him. Smart money, though, may go on English hope Justin Rose at 11/2, who arguably had his most consistent year in 2015, finishing in very respectable positions in each Major, while Swedish selection Henrick Stenson at 5/1 also had a solid showing.
2016 Euro Tour – Challenge Tour Graduate
Should punters think that a 2015 Challenge Tour graduate will win on the European Tour, they can get an odds-on price of 1/3; while, for those who don’t think that this will occur, a price of 2/1 is available.
There are a number of impressive golfers at the minute, including Danny Willet, while Spieth effortlessly transferred his form onto the European Tour once he graduated.
2016 Euro Tour Specials – Successful title defence
With this also including Majors and considering Spieth’s sublime form in 2015 and the way he dominated the US Masters, there is no reason he cannot repeat this at Augusta in 2016.
If punters think that there will be a successful title defence, a price of 2/5 is available.
