Coral #LoveRacing ambassadors Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood attend Cheltenham Festival

In their first major outing as Coral’s official #LoveRacing ambassadors, Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood are attending Cheltenham Festival together, enjoying a day out at the most prestigious race meeting in the Jump Racing calendar.

The Love Island pair will join up to 60,000 racegoers that will be betting and watching the action at this iconic Festival.

As part of their ambassadorial duties, Chris and Olivia will be asked to select the best turned out” racehorse participating in The Coral Cup at 2.50pm. The pair will then share the presentation duties of the trophies to the winning connections – owner, trainer, jockey and groom – of The Coral Cup.

The visit to the Cheltenham Festival is part of Coral’s #LoveRacing campaign that will run across the next few months of the horse racing season through to Royal Ascot in mid-June.

An exciting feature of Coral’s #LoveRacing campaign sees Chris Hughes in training to ride in the Best Western Hotels & Macmillan Ride of their Lives charity race at York Racecourse on June 16th 2018.

Last week Chris attended his first training session at Jonjo O’Neill’s Jackdaws Castle training centre, where he rode one of O’Neill’s racehorses up the gallops – watch him ride here.

Chris Hughes says: “I grew up in the Cotswolds and love the Cheltenham Festival more than any other race meeting in the calendar, so I’m delighted to be attending the event with Coral. It’s like coming home.

It’s always been my dream to be a jockey so I am thrilled to be getting the chance to ride in a proper horse race. I had my first training session last week, taking my first steps on this challenging journey towards riding in the Ride of their Lives charity race.

It was a tough one, but I’ll get fitter – and I can’t wait to be on the track at York!”

Olivia Attwood says: “Horse-riding is in my blood. My nan used to be a professional dressage rider so we’d spend a lot of time up at her yard when I was younger.

I’m really looking forward to Cheltenham as I really love the races and the atmosphere.”
