We look at past results to pick out a champion
It’s the pinnacle of the Champions League tournament, as finalists Real Madrid and Juventus do battle on Welsh turf for the continent’s greatest footballing prize on Saturday from 7.45pm. We’re all set for an enthralling evening’s viewing, with BT Sport screening the main event live, while Coral have all your betting needs covered.
At a loss to predict the winner? Coral run over the lessons learned from past finals, with a view to picking out a bet worth having here…..

It pays to side with the Spanish
We’ve had a Spanish winner of this prize in each of the last three years, and five of the six teams in that period have all come from La Liga – which is nothing short of astonishing. There’s little doubt keeping the Spaniards close during that period would’ve helped boost your bank balance, and our traders seem keen on sticking with that trend, making Real Madrid 13/8 favourites in the match betting.
To add further weight to that theory, Juventus were the spare team in that half-dozen, ending as beaten finalists back in 2015, going down 3-1 to Barca at Olympiastadion in Berlin. Rakitic had the ball in the net after just four minutes that day, before Morata levelled up for the Italians early in the second-half. It was to be a short-lived fightback however, Suarez and Neymar on the scoresheet to put the game out of reach.
We’re set for a high-scoring match
Followers of the stats will see one thing leap off the page at them when running through past finals, and that’s goals are a certainty. We’ve had at least two in each of the last 13 renewals, a run stretching back to Milan’s 0-0 finish with Juve in 2003. Taking this one to fall into line and produce over 2.5 in the total goals market is sure to give a real run for your money, Coral trading a stunning 13/10. That’s worth serious consideration, and looks bet of the day.
Keeping that in mind, both teams have found the net at least once in each of the last six years, taking us from Barcelona’s 3-1 win over Man United in 2011 to Real Madrid’s 1-1 with Atletico last time out. It makes perfect sense to click yes in Coral’s both teams to score coupon at 19/20.

Ronaldo stats are incredible
Remembering Los Blancos have won the European Cup more times than any other side, we take a closer look at each of those 11 titles. Both have scored in seven matches, meaning a play on Real Madrid and Juventus to both find the net on-route to a 12th gong could be where the smart money goes. 19/4 if putting your trust in that trend.
There’s little surprise to see Ronaldo dominates the scoring charts here, with CR7 getting five goals in the last four meetings between these giants. That really is convincing – is there nothing this man can’t do? We have plenty to give fans of Ronaldo an interest too. Get 7/2 on him scoring first, or 19/20 anytime. There’s 9/1 on the attacker netting a header, or a fantastic 22/1 for him to get on the scoresheet in the first 10 minutes.
