Cardiff keen to collect first Championship win against Wolves

Cardiff City, 17/10 with Coral to take all three points, host Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Russell Slade’s side yet to chalk-up a victory in three games of the new Championship campaign.

The Bluebirds have yet to take-off this season but, on the plus side, not been defeated after drawing all their league encounters so far, which makes the Welshmen 12/5 to split the spoils for their fourth fixture in a row.

Visiting Wolves, however, are easily favourites for this fixture at 13/8, after doing the double over their up coming competitors last term, making them a great value chance here. Both previous wins were by a 1-0 scoreline, so back Kenny Jackett’s men at a tempting 13/2 to taste triumph again with a repeat result.

In fact, Cardiff do not have a great recent record at home against the Midlands men in recent times, as Wolves have racked up three wins in their past four trips to the Welsh capital.

The Wanderers will have to do without attacker Adam Le Fondre, taken on a season-long loan deal from the Bluebirds, but still have plenty of potency in their ranks.

Coveted forward Benik Afobe is leading scorer so far this season, with three in four across all competitions, which makes the young former Gunner a great price of 5/1 to fire in first, or 19/10 in the anytime market.

Fellow dangerman Nouha Dicko is also a great shout at 6/1 to score last, while midfielder David Edwards is a promising 14/5 punt to grab his second of the season anytime.

In the Bluebirds’ favour is Wolves’ 3-2 capitulation to QPR last time out, so the hosts will be hopeful of at least getting on the scoresheet.

Craig Noone hit form early this season, with one in the Championship opener, followed by another in the Capital One Cup. Customers can back the English winger at 9/2 to net anytime again. Other excellent striking options include frontman Alex Revell (23/10) and former Southampton and Sunderland cult figure Kenwyne Jones (6/1 to score last).

Betting tip: Wolves have superior firepower and a great recent record at Cardiff City Stadium, so odds of 13/8 for a win are appealing
