Lungarno Palace weighted to shine at Brighton
Lungarno Palace can take advantage of a drop in the weights and ease in grade to land the spoils in the 1m 4f handicap on this evening’s card at Brighton (18.40).
The John Gallagher trained gelding was last successful at Epsom 15 months ago when winning a class 3 contest off a mark of 85 and went on to finish an excellent third of 15 to Heartbreak City in a competitive class 2 affair at York off 86.
Lungarno Palace is now able to race off a reduced rating of 78, 7lbs lower than when last victorious, and comes into the race having shaped as if returning to form last time out when fifth in a decent class 3 contest at York.
The five-year-old now drops down into class 4 company, and this represents the easiest task he has faced for a long time.
Brighton is also an undulating track similar to Epsom, and Lungarno Palace should have no difficulty acting on it.
Indie Music can cash-in on class drop
In the 6f selling handicap that opens proceedings (17.40), Indie Music can open her account now eased in grade.
The Sylvester Kirk trained filly posted her best effort when third to Cartago in a handicap at Windsor last September off a mark of 69, and the winner is a useful sort who has won again since to be rated 94.
That is very strong form in relation to this week class 6 seller and makes Indie Music look potentially thrown-in at the weights off a lowly mark of 56.
Indie Music also shaped better than the bare result last time out when awkwardly away and encountering trouble in-running before finishing sixth of 13 in a class 6 contest at Salisbury, and this is far easier and represents a golden opportunity for three-year-old to get off the mark.

Adam du Breteau appeals at Uttoxeter
Adam du Breteau is a fascinating contender in the 2m 7f handicap on this evening’s card at Uttoxter (19.50) and looks decent value to open his account under rules.
The gelding shaped with bags of promise on debut in an Irish point when close up in third and still going well when coming to grief three from home.
That race was won by Alpha Des Obeaux who has developed into a top class sort and finished runner-up in this year’s World Hurdle, and it was run in a time 15 seconds faster than average on the day.
Adam du Breteau went on to land a point at Dromahane by six lengths, after which he joined trainer Jonjo O’Neill.
The six-year-old has since had just six starts and posted his best effort when last seen in action at Kempton back in December when third in a handicap chase.
Adam du Breteau travelled powerfully until making some costly errors, and it was an effort which suggested he needed keeping onside.
The son of Network now switches back to the smaller obstacles off a 1lb lower mark of 106, and that could well underestimate Adam du Breteau’s ability.
Rose Revived to bloom again
O’Neill looks to hold leading claims of landing a quick-fire double with Rose Revived in the 2m 4f handicap hurdle (20.20).
The mare had some smart bumper form and has improved in leaps and bounds in recent starts over hurdles.
After finishing a fine second at Southwell, the five-year-old opened her account over the obstacles in emphatic fashion when cruising home by 11 lengths on handicap debut at Southwell.
Rose Revived made a mockery of her mark of 95 and won with any amount in hand, and a 10lb rise in the weights is unlikely to be enough to stop her going in again given her progressive profile.
