Shining the spotlight on Brighton

Afternoon meetings at Beverley and Brighton are followed by evening racing from Leicester, Newton Abbot and Ballinrobe, ensuring there’s plenty to keep Coral punters busy on Tuesday. Click here to find the winners.

Our team put forward their views on a NAP of the day, while our ever-popular race-by-race selections give multiple backers an interest throughout. We shine the light on Brighton – follow our thoughts below.

Mr Pocket arrives on form

Race of the day from a seven-leg card at Sussex goes in the form of a competitive five furlongs handicap, due to post at 3.45pm. Of the six runners expected to contest, we think Mr Pocket will take all the beating for Paul Cole.

The progressive three-year-old arrives in a rich vein of form, having won two of his last four starts, and found only one too good at Salisbury last time out. Those victories came around Wolverhampton late last year and then next time out at Bath in his first effort of 2017, dead-heating with favourite Goodwood Crusader in what was a stunning finish to a race run over today’s trip.

Pick given another chance

The selection finished runner-up behind Edged Out less than two weeks ago at Salisbury, but he encountered his fair share of trouble that day and excuses can be made for the bare result. Connections can certainly take plenty of heart from that effort, and the fact they have him out again so quickly is sure to hold weight with backers.

Mr Pocket looks to have been given a chance by the handicapper to go and make that right, and we’re happy to give him another crack of the whip here. His form is difficult to ignore when attempting to whittle down the field, and we’re going to keep him close.
