Battaash to speed to victory in the Temple Stakes

Haydock has the pick of the top races…
There’s a cracking day of racing on Saturday with action from three different venues across the UK.
The ITV crew will be parked up at Goodwood, Haydock and York to bring you an eight-race card live.
Some big players are all in the fold with Battassh, Invincible Army, and Heartache featuring heavily.
The Coral News Team previews the action and provide tips for all eight races…
Can Hills speedster hit his mark?
Charlie Hills’ Battaash makes his seasonal reappearance in the Temple Stakes at Haydock and excitement is abound.
The four-year-old charge was in explosive form last year winning on four of its five starts. But a blow-out in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York was a dark cloud that still hangs over him.
He’s a class apart from his opponents in this race. But there are still questions to answer. However, the son of Dark Angel is a bona-fide Group One sprinter and if he reaches anywhere near his potential he should blow the field away.
Finniston Farm looks competitive
The Silver Bowl Handicap at Haydock looks a highly-competitive field likely to produce a double-figures winner.
Tom Dascombe’s Finniston Farm represents a decent opportunity all things considered. The three-year-old drops back in trip to a mile here and connections reckon that will suit him much better.
Plus, Dascombe’s stable in good form over the last few weeks. There’s any number of horses you could back in this one. But jockey Richard Kingscote is a dab hand around the Liverpool course and should lead him into the top three at least.
No Heartache for Cox at Haydock
And it’s at Haydock where this column finishes off with the Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes. This one looks a keen battle between current joint-favourites Heartache and Invincible Army.
The Coral News Team have to fancy Heartache in this one. Clive Cox’s charge had a tremendous season last year winning on three of its four starts, two of which were at this level.
She was superb in victory at both Royal Ascot and Doncaster and looks well-placed to get this season off to a flyer. Invincible Army certainly has claims and was excellent at the start of the month winning at Ascot.
But in terms of class, Heartache just looks like she has an edge here and should get it done.
