The PGA Tour arrives at TPC Craig Ranch for the first time as the AT&T Byron Nelson returns this week following last year’s postponement.
Sung Kang is the defending champion, although his triumph in 2019 came at Trinity Forest, and the Korean is a 300/1 shot to retain his title.
The 33-year-old requires a remarkable turnaround in form to contend again, with a highest finish this season of tied for 59th.
Despite world number one Dustin Johnson’s withdrawal with a knee injury, a strong field has assembled in Texas including Spain’s Jon Rahm and US Open winner Bryson DeChambeau.
Rahm heads the market at 7/1 despite missing the cut at the Wells Fargo Championship last week, with DeChambeau a 15/2 shot.
Rahm had finished inside the top 10 in 11 of his last 15 appearances prior to last week’s blip at Quail Hollow.
DeChambeau’s putting problems were well documented as he struggled at Augusta National last month, but the world number five showed signs of returning to form with a tied ninth finish in Charlotte.
Leishman returns to happy hunting ground
There is little course form to go on this week when picking out AT&T Byron Nelson betting tips, but TPC Craig Ranch did host the second-tier Nationwide Tour Championship in 2008, where Australian Marc Leishman earned his PGA Tour card with a tied seventh finish.
The 37-year-old has gone on to enjoy a prolific career on tour since, winning six times, and is 28/1 to earn a seventh victory this week.
This will be his first solo appearance since finishing tied for fifth at Augusta National, having won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans alongside compatriot Cameron Smith a fortnight ago.
Masters winner Hideki Matsuyama is 16/1 to win in his first event since becoming a major champion.
Jordan Spieth, with six top 10s in his last eight starts including a win at the Valero Texas Open, would be a popular champion in his home state and is 10/1 to give the locals something to cheer.
Rozner looks to continue fine form Stateside
France’s Antoine Rozner has taken the European Tour by storm with wins in Dubai and Qatar recently, and is 90/1 to secure a maiden success in the US.
The 28-year-old has recorded impressive driving statistics on the European Tour in recent seasons and also ranks well for greens in regulation.
American Peter Uihlein, priced at 80/1, is another recent winner in the field, having tasted victory on the Korn Ferry Tour last month.
Another option at a big price in the AT&T Byron Nelson odds is 125/1 shot James Hahn.
The American’s recent form is nothing to shout about, but he was runner-up over this course in the 2012 Web.com Tour Championship.
Accuracy is likely to be at a premium around a narrow layout, and Hahn ranks 13th on the PGA Tour for greens in regulation this season.
