Betting preview, odds and tips for week 27 in Serie A

Napoli’s spectacular home reverse to Juventus last week all but ended the Serie A title race, with Cristiano Ronaldo and co. now 1/500 to retain their crown for the eighth year in a row.

But all is not lost. AC Milan, Inter Milan and Roma are all heavily involved in the race for the Champions League, while there’s a whole clutch of teams bidding for a Europa League berth.

Those narratives should make for another intriguing weekend of matches, as many of the league’s bottom teams face those at the top. The Coral traders have priced it all up, and we’ve previewed three of the weekend’s top ties below.

Chievo v AC Milan (7:30pm, Saturday)

Chievo are running out of time at the bottom of Serie A. The division’s basement club have won just once all season long and are now 12 points from safety with 12 matches to play after five defeats in seven matches.

With that in mind, a visit from an in-form Milan side who boast hotshot Krzysztof Piatek among their ranks is not ideal. Especially given that Chievo have conceded three or more goals in four of their last five losses.

A Milan win is priced at 4/7, while it’s 8/5 about a Milan Win and Over 2.5 Goals. Polish forward Piatek is on fire at the moment, having netted seven goals in 11 matches. He’s 10/11 Anytime or 4/1 to Score 2 or More.

Sassuolo v Napoli (5pm, Sunday)

Although Sassuolo have developed a bit of reputation for causing an upset in Serie A, their recent form doesn’t hint towards something similar against second-place Napoli.

They’ve won once in 11 matches in all competitions and boast just four home successes all season long. Napoli may be without Alex Meret – sent off against Juve last week – but they should get the job done at 4/7 here.

It’s not only their form that hints at such an outcome. It’s their head-to-head record too. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have already beaten Sassuolo 2-0 twice this season, with another success by the same scoreline at 7/1.

Arkadiusz Milik is rated the likeliest bet to get on the scoresheet at 11/10 Anytime.

Fiorentina v Lazio (7:30pm, Sunday)

Serie A has the stereotype of being a boring league. Fiorentina buck the trend. Viola are one of the most open sides in the division, with their matches this term containing 73 goals so far.

That includes two 3-3s and a 3-4 scoreline since the turn of the year. Goals could be the order of the day as a result. Both Teams to Score is 3/4, while Over 3.5 Goals in the match is priced at 17/10.

Luis Muriel is 7/4 to continue his good form for the hosts and net his fourth goal in as many matches. Ciro Immobile is the 7/5 favourite for the visitors.
