West Brom v Brentford betting tips: Baggies to extend winning run?

Odds and preview for Championship encounter

West Bromwich Albion will be looking for a fourth straight win when they take on Brentford tonight.

Darren Moore’s side would move to within three points of league leaders Norwich City with victory.

The visitors will be determined to get the points too. They’ve lost six of their last seven and want to avoid being dragged into a relegation scrap.

The game kicks off on Sky Sports Football at 8:00pm, but keep reading for all of the key odds and info…

Head-to-Head

The Baggies have had the better of the games between these two sides. They’ve won 11 and only lost three of the previous 16 meetings.

But it’s been a while since they faced each other. These sides have only met once since the turn of the century, with West Brom running out 4-0 winners in the Carling Cup back in 2003.

Likely XIs

With three wins on the trot, Moore may be tempted to stick with what seems to be working. But Dwight Gayle is pushing for a recall after recovering from a calf injury.

Thomas Frank could ring the changes to try and turn things around for the Bees. He’ll hope Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma return to fitness soon. In the meantime, Nico Yennaris and Emi Marcondes are among those who could be come in here.

Key Battles

This could be a very open game between two high-scoring sides. West Brom are the top scorers in the division with 41 goals so far, while Brentford are the second-highest scorers in the bottom half (30 goals).

But the visitors will need to tighten up at the back if they’re going to get anything. They’ve only kept one clean sheet since September.

They’ll hope Neil Maupay can fire them to an upset, but West Brom’s left flank could make the difference here. Kieran Gibbs and Harvey Barnes can cause real problems in wide areas.

Match Odds

West Brom are odds-on favourites at 10/11, with Brentford 3/1 to get a much-needed win. We go 11/4 that the spoils are shared.

Both sides have seen Over 2.5 Goals in each of their last three games. It’s 6/10 that this match follows suit.

Gayle and Jay Rodriguez both head the goalscoring markets at 7/2 to score first and 23/20 anytime.

Maupay has already bagged 13 league goals for Brentford this term. He’s 6/4 to add to his tally here.
