Odds, tips and preview for Championship matches

Aston Villa, Leeds United and Middlesbrough will all be hoping to enhance their promotion credentials as the Championship continues thick and fast tonight.

The ex-Premier League trio are all in action and provide the basis for this evening’s tips.

Aston Villa to beat Preston North End @ 4/5

Last season’s play-off tilt must seem a lifetime ago for Preston fans.

North End have yet to taste victory in the league this term and head to Villa Park off the back of a four-match losing streak.

Steve Bruce’s men aren’t tearing up trees themselves.

But they do boast an envious array of forward talent, and a record of just six regular season home defeats since relegation to the Championship in 2016.

They’re 5/6 to get back to winning ways against Alex Neil’s beleaguered visitors.

Leeds United to beat Hull City @ 23/10

There’s not usually a lot to choose between these two at the KCOM Stadium.

Four of the last five head-to-heads on the banks of the Humber have ended all-square.

However, the Whites are a different proposition these days under the mercurial Marcelo Bielsa. The Argentine is unbeaten away from Elland Road.

Factor in Hull’s poor home record – they’ve won once in their last seven matches at the KCOM – and a Leeds win appears likely. You can back it at 23/10.

Middlesbrough to Win to Nil v Ipswich Town @ 21/10

Tony Pulis has moulded Middlesbrough’s defence into one of the most miserly in the Championship.

The Teesiders have conceded just four goals so far this term, thanks in large part down to the displays of Aden Flint, George Friend and Dael Fry.

Opponents Ipswich don’t concede many – but they don’t score many either. Paul Hurst’s men are winless this term and boast just a single home success since January.

All five of Boro’s victories so far this season have been to nil. They’re 21/10 to extend that run at Portman Road.

Stoke City v Bolton Wanderers – Both Teams to Score @ 19/20

While goals may be at a premium in Suffolk, there should be no such problem in Stoke.

The Potters haven’t quite found their rhythm under Gary Rowett just yet and remain leaky at the back.

Jack Butland and Adam Federici have shipped eight goals between them in the last three matches in all competitions. The club’s forwards have countered that with six strikes of their own.

That points towards a high-scoring affair in Staffordshire this evening, with Both Teams to Score priced at 19/20.
