Preview and odds ahead of the weekend’s action

Attention switches back to club football this weekend and over in Germany they’re resuming an intriguing start to the Bundesliga season.

Both Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke 04 are still looking for their first three points of the campaign, whilst Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin sit in the top-four.

One of the most fascinating ties takes place on Saturday afternoon as Leverkusen travel to Bayern Munich. The Coral News Team have a look at what we could expect from the two sides…

Bayern Munich v Bayer Leverkusen (2.30pm, Saturday)

Niko Kovac has enjoyed a strong start to the Bundesliga campaign so far. The Bavarians new coach has seen his side score three goals in both league games so far.

They’ve successfully integrated Leon Goretzka into the side, he even notched the opening goal in their win over Stuttgart.

They come up against Bayer Leverkusen who have uncharacteristically lost their opening two games conceding five goals in the process.

B04 do have the lively Leon Bailey in their side but are at a long 12/1 to pick up a first victory.

The draw is at 11/2. But Leverkusen have lost their last three meetings between the pair quite convincingly. Another Bayern win is 2/9.

Schalke eyeing their first win

Schalke finished runners-up last season, their highest Bundesliga finish in eight years.

But manager Domenico Tedesco has had to reshuffle a side that has seen some crucial incomings and outgoings in the summer.

Two of their new men, Salif Sane and Mark Uth, have gone straight into the line-up, but neither have looked comfortable so far.

Borussia Monchengladbach stand in their way on matchday three, with Dieter Hecking’s men grabbing four points from their opening two games.

They’re 5/4 to get a second home win. Konigsblauen are 21/20 to snare a victory. But after two 1-1 draws last season, a stalemate is 12/5.

Early risers to keep dream alive?

Wolfsburg survived only by beating Holstein Kiel in the relegation play-off last year, but have bagged victories over Schalke and Leverkusen already this time out.

Led by new signings Daniel Ginczek and Wout Weghorst they sit on maximum points so far.

They take on a Hertha Berlin side that has an identical record and are just one place below them in third.

The Wolves’ home advantage makes them an 11/10 shot to keep the winning momentum alive.

This fixture ended in a pair of draws last year including a mammoth 3-3 score-line in November.

A repeat of that result is 90/1, with any kind of draw at a more modest 11/5.

Hertha to win away for the second-successive game is 14/5.

Best of the rest

Friday night sees fourth-placed Borussia Dortmund host Eintracht Frankfurt at Signal-Iduna Park.

A 0-0 draw against Hannover 96 somewhat stifled the team after their impressive 4-1 win over RB Leipzig on matchday one.

However, Dortmund to bag in both halves as they did against Leipzig is 23/10.

Frankfurt secured the permanent signing of World Cup star Ante Rebic and are 13/2 to go away with the victory.

BVB are 2/5 to make home advantage count with a win.
