Odds slashed on Tiger Woods to win the US Masters
American produced a great display at the Valspar
Tiger Woods is now 11/1 (from 33/1) to win the US Masters after finishing joint-second in the Valspar Championship.
Woods was in the hunt throughout the weekend in Florida. Had he birdied the 18th on Sunday he would have taken winner Paul Casey into a play-off.
Nevertheless, the result marked the American’s best performance in years as he continues his comeback from back surgery.
And Coral have been forced to chop his odds of a 15th Major title with the Masters at Augusta less than a month away.
Woods has won the famed green jacket four times, and is now joint-third favourite in the betting.
Casey, on the other hand, is 33/1 following his win this weekend.
Coral’s John Hill said: “After a strong week in the Valspar Championship, punters have been rushing in to back the former world number one to win the US Masters where he will be searching for his fifth Green Jacket.”
“This will be the shortest price Tiger has been to win at Augusta in five years therefore the betting suggests he goes there with a strong chance to win his 15th Major,” added Hill.
**US Masters**
Dustin Johnson 15/2, Justin Thomas 10/1, Jordan Spieth 11/1, Tiger Woods 11/1, Rory McIlroy 14/1, Jason Day 14/1, Jon Rahm 14/1, Phil Mickelson 16/1.
