A £5 stake could return over £100

There’s a feast of Good Friday football to choose from this afternoon, with action from the Championship, League One and League Two.

All 72 teams will be in action twice over the Easter weekend in a five-day period which could set the tone for the remainder of the season.

The Coral News Team have picked out five fancies that you can add to your betting slip from 3pm onwards…

Cardiff City – 2/5

Cardiff City and Burton Albion look to be heading in different directions. The Bluebirds are battering their way to the Premier League, while the Brewers look set for a return to League One.

Neil Warnock’s men have won their last seven in a row in the Championship and should prevail against the visitors, who have won once in their last 13 matches.

Derby County – 8/15

Two sides woefully out of form meet in the Championship’s evening kick-off at Pride Park.

While Derby County may be winless in seven, they’ve only lost one match at home since late-November.

Opponents Sunderland have won just five times in the league all season long and are without a three point haul in their last 10 matches. It’s not looking good for the Black Cats. And things could get worse against the Rams.

Plymouth Argyle – 27/20

Last week’s defeat to Charlton Athletic should prove to be a minor blip for Derek Adams and Plymouth Argyle. The Pilgrims had won seven from eight prior to their defeat at The Valley.

That loss damages their play-off hopes, but a home record of seven wins from their last eight games should set them straight at Home Park. Today’s opponents Southend United have not won on the road since the beginning of February.

Bristol Rovers – 19/20

Bury are doomed at the bottom of League One. The Shakers are 10 points adrift of safety and have won just three times since the beginning of December.

That should be news to the ears of Bristol Rovers. Darrell Clarke’s side still harbour hopes of a play-off place and are unbeaten in three matches at the Memorial Stadium.

Luton Town – 21/20

After a five-match winless run, Luton Town returned to form last week with a comfortable 2-0 success over Barnet. The Hatters also resumed their position at the summit of League Two with that success and look well-placed for automatic promotion as a result.

A trip to Colchester United should herald another three points. The U’s have only won one of their last six matches, scoring just two goals in that time.

Against the Hatters’ superior firepower, the Essex outfit will likely find things tough.
