Acca includes tasty derby clash

As national sides continue their preparations for the final flurry of World Cup qualifiers, Wednesday’s acca again looks elsewhere.

National League and Checkatrade Trophy contests are joined by a pair of intriguing snooker clashes to produce a tempting four-fold.

If all selections are correct, a £5 stake could return £76.75. All prices and returns correct at time of writing.

Wrexham to beat Chester

The cross-border derby stretches right back to 1888.

But ahead of this latest meeting, Wrexham sit third in the National League, while hosts Chester lie 22nd and in the relegation zone.

Amazingly, Wrexham’s 16 goals scored is the lowest of the entire division. Even tonight’s opponents have netted 18.

But with just 12 conceded, The Dragons boast the joint-best defence in the league.

They’re organised and disciplined under Dean Keates, and with Chester winning just two of their last 13, Wrexham are a handy 27/20 for the win.

Carlisle United to beat Fleetwood Town

Moving to the Checkatrade trophy where Carlisle host Fleetwood at Brunton Park.

Both sides will make changes from their respective FA Cup wins.

But the big factor is that the Cod Army played on Monday night away at Chorley.

And with a trip to MK Dons looming on Saturday, boss Uwe Rosler is almost certain to make a whole host of changes.

That should hinder their chances. Carlisle played their cup tie on Saturday – at home too – giving them far more time to recover.

They’re at home again this weekend to Yeovil, so manager Keith Curle can call upon fresher and more first-team regulars tonight. The Cumbrians are an excellent 29/20 for victory.

Mark Selby to beat Liang Wenbo

World number one Mark Selby has won his last two tournaments, so he should be plenty confident of defeating Liang Wenbo.

But the Jester from Leicester has never had it easy against the man from China.

Selby has a narrow 5-4 advantage from their nine previous meetings,  but given his form he should have enough in hand to progress at 1/3.

Luca Brecel + 1.5 Frames v Judd Trump

Like Selby, Judd Trump also faces a tough Champion of Champions clash, this time versus Luca Brecel.

Many are tipping the Belgian for big things in the years to come, and he’s on a high having landed his first ranking title earlier this year at the China Championship.

Trump is also up and running for the year after winning the European Masters.

The man from Bristol has won both previous meetings, but Trump hasn’t faced Brecel since 2015, in which time the 22-year-old has improved markedly.

Back the Belgian to mark Trump work for the win on the +1.5 handicap at Evens.
